Uhh, what? I thought that Jones had a pretty strick greco background. Just becasue it's upper-body takedowns doesn't mean it's judo.

Jones has said in interviews that he has trained with a college judo club. He draws technique from many different sources.
Listen to 2 minutes on. He has judo training - don`t know what his ranking is but the majority of the throws on the first video are definitely judo throws..

JJ I somewhat agree with you but your statement is somewhat too general. An American Freestyle wrestler would have a harder time with a Judoka who has some basic wrestling skills compared to a wrestler with a Greco Roman background due to the fact that Greco Roman has more throws (from what I have been told - note, I have no wrestling background) than Freestyle..

please educate me if I'm wrong, but I thought Greco didn't have footsweeps? He uses trips/foot sweeps in alot of his takedowns.
