But it looks a little familiar

Not four but these guys step it up and use five sperms. With the sperm and the name ORIGIN, these guys will be around for a long time!!

I actually like what Pete's doing with Origin, but now I'll never be able to not see sperm in their logo. Dammit.

paneo astima - yo this is bullshit, I had planned to call my academy Origin BJJ when I get my black belt one day, maybe they will be out of business by then and I can use it
It's cool you can do that, that's how copyrights and trademarks work... when they go out of business it is up for grabs.

Also these are all variations of Japanese crests... but lol @ the OP's sperm logo

While the logo only bears a slight resemblance, their "Batch 1" limited quantity gi is a blatant ripoff of Shoyoroll.

The Prana Brand logo definitely reminds me of Shoyoroll.

I like Shoyoroll, but do other companies really need to be that similar to them? Sure they are great looking gis (for the most part), but I really dont think they do anything spectacular that other companies need to rip them off.

Prana should change their logo into something that doesnt resemble Shoyoroll, or they risk just looking like a blantant rip off.

As far as Origins gi's, I dont know why, but some of their pics on the website look a bit homoerotic (not that there is anything wrong with that- just pointing it out). I think it might have to do with the posed bjj pics.

Lastly, both companies need to get rid of all things resembling sperm in their logos.

As far as limited batch quantities, I do not fault small start up gi companies for doing that.

It's smart business sense- take preorders, and use that money to pay for your order.

Many new companies dont have the $$ or the space to keep large inventory. By having limited presales, they are minimizing their risks of losing $$.
