Those who know question TRT’s legitimacy

CountChocula - 1st, low testosterone levels are a health problem.

2nd, testosterone replacement shouldn't be lumped into the "performance enhancing drugs (PED's)" category

Testosterone should not be stigmatized by the media, people like this, or regulatory agencies and athletic commissions.

Even if an athlete has subpar testosterone levels as a result of using PED's, that should not be a reason to disqualify him from treatment to regain normal hormone levels. There's no relationship, medically speaking, between the cause of low testosterone and the treatment. The cause and treatment are considered separately.

Great post man, but you are wasting your breath. 99% of the world are a bunch of sheep when it comes to the mention of the word "testosterone" (great example is the "low T" commercial where they try to call it something different because of the stigma attached to the word. They immediately freak out as a result of basically being brainwashed with rumors, exaggerated stories and sides, and reefer madness type hype from the media and government.

They don't care to learn anything new or try to see it from any different point of view.

Testosterone = evil and cheating

I just hope that some of these guys who are wanting to throw these athletes on TRT to the wolves, end up dealing with the same problem in their own life. That's probably the only way most of them would ever come to their senses and take the hate goggles off.

They should test the guys a few times a year, and as long as their levels are within normal range, WHO GIVES A FUCK if it was TRT or their own body that produced the testosterone.

Wovito -
HexRei - That's not exactly right. After years of steroid abuse your nuts can actually stop producing testosterone, because your system recognizes the overload and accordingly lowers production. Some people never recover. Thus they need the TRT to maintain even baseline levels of testosterone, otherwise they'd have even less than, all else being equal, a man who'd never used steroids.

I completely get that part. What I'm saying is that it allows someone to keep a steroid-based gain that without juicing, would have been impossible. Not the test levels, the actual gains in bulk muscle mass and / or strength. Agree or disagree?

Not necessarily. The point of TRT isn't to give them superhuman test levels, but levels comparable to naturally occurring test in a prime man. If they are using it as directed by a doctor who isn't "playing the game" it shouldn't give them a significant advantage over athletes with normal natural test levels, and thus they shouldn't be bigger than their natural best. Plenty of doctors willing to look the other way though.

again, NOT the test levels, the actual gains in bulk muscle mass and strength.

Damn most of you people are just so freaking clueless on this issue you shouldn't even be allowed to post your opinion on the matter.

A small percentage of MMA athletes are going to use roids to get "bulk muscle mass and strength" gains. Why? Because when a guy is juiced up to bulk up they gas quicker than Shane Carwin against Brock (no offense to Shane, nor am I implicating that he uses)

MMA athletes use doses that allow them to train harder, and more often. It helps their body heal so they can get back out and train again. They still have to put in the hard work. They aren't trying to BULK up or add 100 lbs to their bench. Using doses that would give those kinds of gains would have a very negative effect on conditioning (assuming the use of AAS) Their blood pressure would be up, jacking around with their cardio. It's just not beneficial for an athlete like this to use such doses.

This is why everyone needs to pull their bitch ass skirts up and realize that there is a EASY solution to this whole deal: Test everyone several times a year, make them test IN NORMAL RANGE, and beyond that, no questions asked. No doctors note needed, nothing.

Lets get on with the damned fights and quit being so retarded.

Also, I guarantee even some of the pro fighters that talk shit when someone is busted like Nate was, have juiced themselves. They are just glad the spotlight isn't on them.

and Dan Henderson ? Todd Duffee ?

so their cases are legit ?
good to know brotha.

To note...Dan says he does NOT like TRT at all. messes with his weight cut bad, one reason he doesnt want to fight 185 anymore

When the spotlight was on Randy Couture for his achievement, I think it was Joe Rogan who mentioned that Dan Henderson (another former TeamQuest guy) had a prescription for hormone replacement therapy. Although Dan is a better and more likable fighter, if the guy has a prescription, it's not that different from what Sonnen and Marquardt are doing.

You are forgetting that this forum only condemns those who aren't well liked. There were actually people upset with me in an older thread when I mentioned Henderson and TRT. Facts are facts. Phone Post

Proof? Henderson has been confirmed to have a TUE. Phone Post

I am on TRT and I am a fighter but none of my test will fail because I take the prescribed amount to keep my levels to a normal range for my age. Phone Post

I'm 47 years old and just got test for low-T, the result came back negative. I have normal testosterone levels...

What does that say about Nate and all of the other athletes who use TRT?

To many year's of abusing steriods? You decide....

I'm 28, have never done a steroid in my life. In my case I found out this past week that I have a tumor in my head affecting my pituitary gland. Not all cases are what you think just because your old and you happen to have normal levels Phone Post

Where's Nate's tumor located? Just sayin...

I think Conte is just pissed he didnt cook up the TRT angle instead of his designer drug stuff. Talk about a turn coat though.....a guy who is a professional cheat is suddenly sought for his "professional" opinion..........
