Thoughts on this business idea?

my guess is that there are countless people already doing it and that it is a very crowded market.

Are you a paid member of this forum?

I thought you were rich from your landscaping business.

I say do it. It would make your face and voice easily recognized so people would know they’re not kicking the fucking shit out of the wrong guy.

It has potential but I don't think the viewership would support the cost of equipment to review.  Not saying it can't be done but starting it as a business seems a lot more risky than transitioning it from a hobby into a profit center.  Like the guy who sold you weed in high school, he isn't getting rich but he's supporting his own habit and always has weed

Thanks Cuckold.  Even if I didn't make money, if it helped offset the cost of all the cool stuff I'd get to try and expiranemtn with, it would probably be worth it.  But surely some youtubers are makeing real money?!?!

Tim pool was making 5kish a month with two videos on two channels (4 videos total) with 98k views average on each.. so I doubt it scales down to a small channel for a niche hobby

i think there is a niche for almost anything on youtube.

and don’t worry about the cost. if you fill the niche, the companies will comp you stuff to review.

It's a good and unique idea thats relevant to my interests, but i'm struggling with the feasiblity of testing expensive equipment that will be devalued once used.

I don't think manufacturers would comp this kind of stuff, especially if their is a possibility of a negative portrayal of their product.

I hear you r1ch, thanks.  But, a few things:

Honestly, the equipment would not be that expensive.  For example, testing different types of bio media.  All I would need is 2 10 gallon tanks (which I have already).  2 very cheap HOB filters (have 1, another will cost like $15).  And some different bio media (probably a few buck on each side).  Oh, and some ammonia from the 99 cents store.  That is litereally it. All that could be used to have hundreds of different shows, testing different bio media one against the other.

Even pumps are for the most part pretty cheap.  $12.  $18.  $27.  Some get way more expensive, but there is SO MUCH stuff that could be tested low-medium end with not much money.

Plus I could probably offer to resell a bunch of it on the shows basically a few bucks off new price for a very lightly used piece that the viewers know works great.

Thoughts?

THanks!
