UFC middleweight Tim Kennedy was forced to turn down a fight with Lyoto Machida when military teaching jobs intervened on his schedule.
 
UFC wanted the two to fight in February at an unnamed event, but this time around, Kennedy said his schedule is to blame, with a personal defense workshop set for February in his hometown of Austin, Texas, in addition to a teaching gig at a military urban combat course.

Me those guys have all got significantly better while Kennedy has sat out. He could of been up there, but these guys are all better than him standing and on the ground and chances are always will be. He's just in a division where these other guys do everything he does so well, and a little better than him Phone Post 3.0

Dudes put his life on the line multiple times without hesitation for the people and land that he loves

At a certain point you can take the duck noises and shove them up your ass

Is he a pro fighter or not? declining pro fights for other work isn't a pro fighter in my book. He isn't even asking for a fight.
