Reading all the forums. It's unbelievable all the Tim Sylvia haters out there. Now, I'm not a fan. I will be cheering for Jeff Monson. But how could you not respect the guy ?

Is there really, any other Heavy Weight in the world that wanted a World Title as badly as him ?

Tim wasn't born with talent. Like Cro-Cop, Fedor, or Nog. Those are god given skilled fighters. Tim has too work hard to improve. He fought back from steroids scandal to become a champion again.

He loves all MMA fans and will sign autographs for everyone... Even the haters.

Is he the best Heavy Weight in the world ? No, and probably never will be. But he has worked hard to get what he has. And he deserves our respect.

I don't dislike him, but he is so fucking cocky in person. He really needs to realize the scope of his celebrity. I mean Jared from Subway is more recongized.

I agree with MKK. I have more respect for someone like Sylvia that has to work their ass off for acheivement as upposed to someone who under delivers on their potential. He is not polished when it comes to giving speaches but he has always been polite in person and does go out of his way to accomodate fans.

I'm not a big fan of his fighting style or the persona he projects, but I give credit where it's due: he is grossly underrated, comes well prepared, uses his tools effectively, and will have little trouble beating Monson. That said, Fedor would get him to the ground and have a field day with him there...

he used to be an overweight fan with health problems from his height, then he got with militich, got in shape, parleyed a title shot, fought an amazing fight and won a title
