But, it's a bit rich talking about "deserves" when a champions org is absorbed and their champion status is transferred. They have still earned their title.

Prior to the UFC absorbing the WEC.. Aldo and Cruz were the Zuffa promoted TOP DOGS in MMA. After the UFC absorbed the WEC, Aldo and Cruz REMAINED the Zuffa promoted TOP DOGS in MMA... which translates quite simply to being UFC CHAMPIONS.
