Last night Antonio Rogerio Nogueira hit a prone Tito Ortiz to the body until the ref ended the fight in the very first round.

Given that Ortiz has had a single win in five years, many expect that this will be Tito's final fight. Ortiz thinks otherwise.

"I take my hat off to him," Said Tito. "That body shot hurt me. My game plan was to get on top and do a ground and pound. I gave it my all. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. I'm going to take some time off and enjoy the holidays with my family. I have one more fight in my contract. I'm going to give the fans one more fight that is my best."

For his part, UFC President Dana White was noncommittal, but did not seem firmly opposed to the idea.

"I gotta talk to Tito," said White. "We'll see. I'm always looking out for guys' health. It's not like Tito got viciously knocked out tonight. He got punished to the ribs. We'll see."

Given the Tito still retains star power, should be wish to fight, and remains medically sound to do so, it is unlikely that the UFC will release him to another organization, one with lesser fighters, where Ortiz could remain highly competitive.

Bet it's a trilogy vs Forrest. Seems like a lame fight. I'd rather see him vs Franklin, and Franklin will win IMO. Phone Post

Yep, good call on the trilogy fight with Forrest. I'd be surprised if it was anything else.

Might as well give Tito another fight if that's what he wants. If his chin was shot I might think otherwise but he can still take a punch.

Dana isnt stupid. They make a ton of cash on a Tito retirement match for sure. He will get that last fight.

Make a lot of $ on Tito?? Frank Mir was a co-headliner over him last night? He puts butts in seats, but not like 5 years ago. He is no longer relevant as fighter. Keeps his adds up to high and cant take the body shot. All he ever do was hold guys down and look busy. I don’t remember has he ever KO'ed anyone? ( not including tanner on a takedown) He cant take a shot what’s so ever ( never could).
