I doubted Max. Thought he was too small and not enough horse power, like in the Porior fight. I am a huge Max fan and was just hoping he didn’t get destroyed . That performance was fucking legendary.
Max Holloway is one of my favorite fighters. I got to see him live in Detroit at 218 when he defeated Aldo in the rematch
I doubted him in this fight. I didn’t think he belonged at LW and I thought Justin was a terrifying matchup for him
As I said earlier, I’ve never in my life been happier to be wrong about a fight
Max is a legend
It was a slip

Regardless… don’t ever scare me like that again Max
That didn’t age well
It’s crazy how Max’s face is completely unmarked after that 5 rounds, doesn’t even look like he was in a fight.
I think Max changed his diet for a while there or something. He fell off for a little bit then damn he’s got the competition shook.
You can fight that motherfucker until the very last second of the last round and he’ll still knock you the fuck out.
How the fuck do you prepare for that mentally?
Wild shit is max landed the spinning kick w one second left in the first round and smashed gaethjes nose, changed the fight. Then finished the fight with one second left
Troll better. This is weak sauce clown shoes level
We all love Max but it was completely sane to think Max was in trouble based on:
- his last performance at LW vs another heavy hitter
- he has always been hittable and seemed even more so in recent fights even when he was winning
- Justin was in top form, technically but lethal
an incredible fight…one of the all time greats
I’m a huge Max fan but when he poked Justin’s eyes 2x in round 2 I was expecting karma to get him. Guessing karma didn’t want any of Max last night.
Justin got Tony’d by max
I’m in a chat with three Samoan guys and was like “Max never had eye poke issues and suddenly he morphs into Jon fucking Jones”
Admit i thought Justin would overpower Max but glad Max won especially the way he did. Wish they would have used that old promo ‘two men enter, one man leaves’.
That’s right, don’t recall him poking before either. He should have been penalized off the second one though. The refs just aren’t on top of it. As many have said, they are more strict on fence grabs.
Fight could have gone either way in the last 10 seconds. Max has huge stones
Max gets that look in his eyes at that point. I remember saying “OH SHIT HERE WE GO!” when he realized Korean Zombie was going for broke. He had that same look in his eyes.
On that note; what a fucking stud Korean Zombie was. He realized that pacing and picking his shots were not going to work and he decided that his only shot was to get into a shootout with Max. Knowing clearly what the outcome was going to be. But he went anyway.
