I’ll never forget shaking that guys hand at a charity boxing event. His grip was like a vise.
A lot of people people will run with a bunch of far fetched bullshit before they’ll admit to themselves and everyone else that their family member died of a “dishonorable” cause like drugs, homo, suicide etc.

Exactly why they both had that cartoonish, over the top, caricature persona of “manliness”. They were ENTERTAINERS…….ACTORS………there was nothing manly about them lol

I grew up in KC. Many stories of him getting drunk alot in Westport. Getting into street fights and treating people like garbage. Saw him fight very early in his career at Memorial Hall in KC before he got famous. Alot of potential but flushed it down the toilet with alcohol and drugs. Probably bisexual.

He was also more dependent on PED’s than any of the guys in his era imo. Was probably a natural cruiser or light heavy.
I don’t know if it was his last fight, but it was towards the end anyway. He fought a pseudo MMA fight on a reservation that doesn’t have an athletic commission and didn’t test for anything. I think his management changed the rules so instead of an MMA fight it was basically boxing in a cage with MMA gloves. He fought some local who he clobbered the shit out of in 2 minutes.

Dude was withering away at a young age and had to get implants to give the illusion of muscle. If it wasn’t AIDS I don’t want whatever the fuck he had.
