Tommy Morrison vs Razor Ruddock

I was feeling all nostalgic and was watching some 80's and 90's boxing videos and thought I'd share this one. Two bombers letting em fly:

Wow! How did I ever miss that one? Thanks.

Say what u want about Tommy Morrison, dude was as exciting as any heavyweight in the era and he had all kinds of power. Phone Post 3.0

Ahh the good old days, nice work homie Phone Post 3.0

vu

Tommy could wing it and put anyone out at any point.  He was fast and fearless as well.  I hate watching the ending of his fight with Mercer.  What the fuck was that ref thinking?!

That was one of the most brutal finishes ever. Mercer was a bad mofo Phone Post 3.0

Voted right the fuck up!! I remember watching this live (on tv) when it went down. Being from Toronto I was a huge fan of Ruddock, but loved Morrison as well..........two big time bangers right there!

VU's back at y'all.  Cause ya know........you like the same shit (80's / 90's boxing) that I do.  Look at all the competitive talent we had back then.........the heavyweight division now is a wasteland IMO.  I'm still a boxing fan........just a really really starving thirsty one.

You couldn't provide me with enough free beer to sit through a heavyweight tilt these days. Well, maybe..........but I wouldn't be stoked, just drunk!

Trying to be objective here.....................W Klitschko may be one of the greats of all time; we will never know because of the horrible opposition he has had.

LOL sgotwalks..........has there ever been a time where you don't care about ANY proposed heavyweight fight?  I gotta believe it's not just us.........it is really really bad right now and has been for years.

how good was Tommy though?he beat an aging Foreman but who else?if you could make an 8 man tounament with the top 8 hvwt boxers of all time, is Tommy in it??

Tommy isn't in the top 50...........but he was an exciting bomber who dug in and threw from his nuts.  Hell Tommy barely makes the top 8 of his own time.

His name wouldn't even come up in the discussion. Like Samoa said, not even top 50.

I don't think anyone is saying that he was an all time great or even a "great" during his own era.  What he WAS though, was a fighter with Nytol in his left hook and a willingness to bomb it out with ANYONE.  Thats exciting and made for great fights in an era FULL of great fights.

Yea he was exciting fighting cans and hasbeens. But when he came up against guys who knew their shit like Mercer and Bentt he didn't know what to do.

Mercer and Bentt had nearly half as many fights as Morrison, but Mercer won gold at the Olympics and Bentt won gold at the National Amature championship and won two bronzes at the World Amature championships.
Yes I agree with everything ur saying. I didn't say he was the best fighter in the world I said he was exciting. Imo his loses were some of his most exciting fights. Phone Post 3.0
