Yea, from what I understand the dude is a military hero who also happened to be a very flawed individual. Its ok, nobodies perfect, but the whole making up stories thing is kind of bad, especially when outing others in the process.
Seems like the kind of guy you would have loved to have next to you in battle, but probably lost some of his marbles when he was killing people. I guess that's to be expected to some extent.

His (alleged) bad kills of civilians, massive lies, and the damages to many others those lies, etc resulted in not only tarnish the good he did do, but the possible credibility of others in his position.
Meaning there are a shit-ton of other veterans that did crazy shit that saved lives & deal with PTSD we'll never know the likes of that didn't injure civilians nor damage others & profit from telling "tall tales".

It should be just the opposite. These types should be held to a higher standard, not a lower one.
