Seeing how Ariel Ganulla is on a 5 fight losing streak and fighting for the Florida belt, (not taking anything away from him. Hes a super nice guy and fights with all of his heart each time, but he simply shouldnt be in any one's top list), does the state have an "official" ranking system?
If not who would you all say is our top unsigned 185ers? Who would someone have to beat out there right now to be the #1 or hell top 10 guy?
I'd go with Shane Primm, Luigi Fiorivanti, Mark Serkez, and Gareth Joseph.
Gareth Joseph lives in CA I believe.
Luigi is supposed to go back down to 170.
Primm was just beaten by Luigi, but is dangerous.
Serkez is tough but has a few losses.
Yosmany, Babcock, Hammortree, and Brasco need to be mentioned.

But shouldn't that be the goal for a title shot? If it is for an official "state" championship, does it really mattter which org it should be under?

David Avellan is a free agent 5-1 and third place in the last ADCC's. His only loss was to Aron Simpson where he got caught with a big right hand in a exchange. In my opinion hes the best unsigned 185er in Florida.
Not every organization has a good financial back-up. Some organizations have great sponsors and investors like the XFC that started at a little country club called the Dallas Bull. Now, they are putting on good shows around the world and here in Tampa at the St. Pete Times Forum. They are even opening up a school in South Africa. The RFC has a very tight budget and to get another Main Eventer with a better record (No pun intended as Gandulla is a great fighter) it is going to be more expensive. Also, there is alot more politics when it comes to Schools/Managers involved and money/pay issues as well. EXAMPLE: When a matchmaker calls a established quality fighter and offers him a rematch with another fighter of the same or higher quality, that fighter is going to ask for more money for a couple of reasons and one being that in order to prepare he is most likely going to put more time and effort and possible quit his job and train Full Time. Sacrifice! A good example is on rfcmma.com in the news section when Danny Babcock was offered an RFC MW title shot against Carl Malenko, he stated that he quit his job in order to prepare. In conclusion, it is not that RFC doesn't know how to matchmake, it is just a budget issue, hence why they went from The Sun Dome back to the Ala Carte Event Pavilion.
