I’m skeptical, but hoping the movie is solid and holds up after the initial excitement dies down.

The new Blade Runner springs to mind as a great sequel that also didn’t necessarily need to be better than the original for it to work.

So, Top Gun 2 can potentially be something as well.

I liked the new blade runner. I was really worried about it but enjoyed it a lot.
