Top Stars Likely Leaving Impact Wrestling

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Impact Wrestling is pushing the intellectual property and freedom aspects in the sense that talent will be free to work many other places and not have to be exclusive to them while recruiting new talent.

The promotion is selling it that the talents can use Impact to help build their names and also can retain their intellectual property rights.

It is expected that Bobby Lashley and Ethan Carter III will leave when their contracts are up, and one or both will end up with WWE.

So funny they’re preaching the benefits of IP to people yet they won’t let Matt Hardy be broken...I’m sure none of the potential talent read the internet...

They stopped fighting that. Matt could be broken, WWE wants him woken instead. The IP thing is new and a positive change for potential talent reading the internet :)

Man, I feel bad for Impact sometimes. The product looks night and day better than it did a year ago. Good talent. New management trying to make changes for the better. And no one could give a shit. No one tunes in and just keep clowning them anyway.

I watch impact every week hangs head in shame

Borash is still producing really good stuff over there, with Konnan now instead of Matt Hardy.

In terms of booking/creative they're certainly no worse than the wwe. Until recently I'd argue they had a comparable roster. Impact's production (other than Borash) and buying power is lacking tho...

There's some potential cross promoting with LU and AAA. I hope Impact books matt cross (son of havok) in 2018.

I just catch a sparatic episode here and there, but I should watch more.

^I saw that youtube clip over the weekend - literally the first Impact I've seen in YEARS.

Had the same kinda vibe that LU might put out IMO. Might have to check out more.

Yeah that does look LUish. I watched a couple backstage brawls with Del Rio and Johnny Impact.

I think EC3 and Eli Drake are feuding for the title right now. Last I looked anyway.

There's a ton of LU cross over right now. Recently, impact has had major programs involving the following talent from LU:

- texano
- king cuerto/phantasma
- Drago
- Jeremiah crane/Sami Callahan
- taya
- johnny mundo
- ADR

I'm hoping there's a lot more in 2018. LU is going to let their wrestlers keep their IP in 2018, so this synergy should be even greater. Just got to get AAA on board, but that's what Konnan is thee for (according to himself and Cyrus).

Jeff Jarrett is gone. I see potential.

So is Impact actually worth trying to watch now?

I don't have cable so I'd have to find "alternative" ways to watch it online (though even then, it doesn't seem readily available at many of the "usual" places).

Johnny Morrison could come back.

Check out episode and see what you think. I'd be curious to get your feedback as well.

Well all of them on Impact may actually motivate me to watch.
