This is my first post from here I am a Sherdogger. I just started college and I used to work out in high school when they made us workout in gym. I know how to workout when someone gives me a plan but I don't know how to make one or anything. Does anyone have a workout plan?
And I carry alot of body fat my % is 35%. Id like to lose bodyfat and gain muscular definition.
Thanks.
You are asking someone for a lot.
Why dont you do some research, try to put together your own plan and then ask the forum for help?
BS. You're a troll. Anybody remember the "Jake Tyler" that posted on every Waterubry thread.
Bye KKM.
Wiggy - www.workingclassfitness.com
I thought Jake Tyler was Waterbury
I dont know why you would call me a troll. I am being sincere if I wanted to troll I wouldnt troll in a small forum id troll in the main forum. If you dont want to help me its fine I just someone will. I have researched but you must no how difficult it is there is so much information online its hard to sift through. And I did Jake Ty1er because Jake Tyler was taken.
Wiggy if you dont want to help its okay I just hope someone will. I have a gym membership by the way so i wouldnt need a home workout or anything.
Without knowing anything about your goals, your health, your medical history, your current level of fitness, etc... its going to be nex to impossible to set you up with something that is appropriate. Most people that come here asking for a program that hear that and don't end up getting a program usually get pissed and leave instead of listening the advice that is given. A few actually stick around.
with that being said, here is a good intro for beginners;

My goal is to just lower my body fat % and my health is okay and I don't have a medical history and my doctor told me its okay to exercise. I am probably in poor shape but could run and not walk for a mile. If this stuff helps any. People probably come here because they want help and they think it should be easy like anything else but instead people can never get a straight answer because its so complicated and they get frustrated. I wont leave and id appreciate advice. I will check out that website I just wanted to make sure you think I should work out or if you think I should just run. Part of me wants to just do half and hour of eliptical and half and hour of swimming every day 2x day until all of my weights off and not even touch weights but im not sure.
Its still not as easy as you think it is. In order to put you on a GOOD program that is tailored to you and will get you the best results according to your goals it takes 1 on 1 time. A cookie cutter routine wont 'cut it' (padon the pun). Doing something is better than doing nothing though so you'll likely notice results no matter what you do.
In order to tailor a proper program for you someone would have to test your general fitness/strength levels, find out about your diet and sleeping patterns, medical history(you say you don't have one but everyone does), etc...
Try not to get frustrated by the advice given and have patience with the people here. Many times every week people come to this forum claiming they want to turn thier life around and get back in shape and yada yada yada... we never hear from them again.
Typically the vibe on this particular forum can be summed up like this; "We'll lead you to water but it's up to you to drink it for yourself". There is a TON of incredible and free information here, as well as alot of genuinely nice people that will help motivate you if and when you need it. There aren't alot of people here though that will offer you an easy way out. Because there isnt one.
Stick with it and use the advice given in these forums and you will exceed your own expecations. Guaranteed.
Despite it's reputation for being an elitist forum, this is actually one of the better Strength and Conditioning forums on the net.
Thanks for being the only to even acknowledge me. For that reason alone I thank you. I ask that you consider my post as non-hostile and think about what I am saying because I think theres some merit to it.

If doing something is better than doing nothing and since I am such a novice and will see results no matter what I do why not suggest what I should do.

Most trainers or anyone in fitness always says something like this. To get a good recommendation for a great TV I would understand needing to know things like what kind of shows you like and what the space requirements are in the room and what budget. But the kind of information you say would be like asking for the temperature in that room and the exact pitch of the floor and the exact amount of natural light in the room and the amount of background noise.
You act like these variables are sufficent enough to limit one from being given any valid advice. Say I say I sleep 6 hours a night instead of 8 what difference will that make in a work out program for someones whose goals are as simple as weight loss. Say I say my medical history is I had a broken leg when I was 11 would you tell me to not to do squats? So what would all of this exhaustive information really do for you.

Some will undoubtedly see this as frustration even though there is none. If many times people come why not have a sample starter routine for them and tell them to go through and build on that. They may never come again because they got frustrated that they never got help.

Again no one even led this horse to water. Even if you guys were leading people and they wouldnt follow through you would have helped them as you were there for them. Im not seeing any of that here. As for no easy way out that is again something that is perpetuated by people in this arena. I completely understand that human motivation and behavior is incredibly complex and there rarely is a cookie cutter answer but there are certain strong principles that are applicable to most people.
"Stick with it and use the advice given in these forums and you will exceed your own expecations. Guaranteed."
I would probably have to look at the advice given to others because I havent been given much.
"Despite it's reputation for being an elitist forum, this is actually one of the better Strength and Conditioning forums on the net."
It may be less elitist than other s and c forums but elitism may be inherent to s and c.
Unfortunately this post will be interpreted as hostile and butthurt etc. But if you would compare s and c/exercise/diet/weight loss experts it is just a consistent problem. I would either say its because they are elitists or they have something to gain by not sharing advice or they dont really know themselves because they just know how theyre own body works.
Like I said I think there are certain generalizable principles. I think if ten people who dont exercise and want to I think those ten if they are a similar age and no one has a horrific injury or disability, I think those 10 can benefit from a similar workout at least at the beginning. Then again I guess I shouldnt be suprised at the least because its always the same.
You would think that there would be people supportive or even helpful of a person just like they wood if someone asked for a computer recommendation but this just isnt the case.
1armed after righting all this I wasnt even gonna hit post because i figured it wouldnt even be fruitful but i will have some hope in your understanding because i think if it doesnt even help me now it could help you so you can help someone later.
Jake Ty1er - Thanks for being the only to even acknowledge me. For that reason alone I thank you. I ask that you consider my post as non-hostile and think about what I am saying because I think theres some merit to it.I did

Jake Ty1er - "In order to tailor a proper program for you someone would have to test your general fitness/strength levels, find out about your diet and sleeping patterns, medical history(you say you don't have one but everyone does), etc..."If it was simple you wouldn't be here asking questions becuase you would already know the answers.

If many times people come why not have a sample starter routine for them and tell them to go through and build on that. They may never come again because they got frustrated that they never got help.I gave you a simple starter routine, and there is a plethora of other information readily available for free at your fingertips if you search active threads within this forum pertaining to the very same subject.

There's your water. Drink from it. Ask questions as you need to. You want strong principles? Look no further than the bulk of the program I gave you already. Complex, mult-joint movements. Did you even look at the program I gave you?
Jake Ty1er - I would probably have to look at the advice given to others because I havent been given much.Again did you even look at the program I gave you? Simply following that alone will likely let you reach your current goals and becoming an active member of this forum will help you exceed them.
cheers.
