Training Journals

Just wondering. Does anybody in this forum keep a training journal that documents each training session i.e. techniques, personal progress, areas of weakness, observations, etc? It was suggested to me once and I thought it was kind of a cool idea. I just got back into the swing of things recently and was considering doing this. I was wondering if anybody has been doing this and finds it useful.

It's a really, really good idea to keep a journal of your training. You can track habits and actual consistency.

I used to keep one years ago when I could actually train and wrote down when and what I trained. What I trained that day and what I needed to work on for the next class, or what to lift etc, etc.

I did it religiously after classes, I'd even draw in little diagrams and whatever to help me remember. I really should pick it back up again, it can really help a lot.

i spend an absurd amount of time analyzing my game during the day when im not training (I got lots of time for that because im dropped out of school and i cant find a job)

I write down everything I wanna try, fix or focus on. I type up the list and take it to class. Everyday after class i revise it and print a new one. I want to start writing things down during class, especially during privites.

Thanks for the feedback. Last night after I started that thread, I decided to give it a shot for the training I've done this week so far. I have to say that I was amazed at how much detail I was able to get down on paper. Had I not done this then it is quite possible that these small details/nuances would have eventually slipped away from me. I think I will try to keep this up as long as possible.

I do.
