Training Log

We have had some people suggest to us that we should create a strength and conditioning training log as well.  Previously, we have always felt that because there are so many different programs used by many different people that  it would be difficult to create a universal log that would benefit everyone.
So I decided that I would bring it to the UG.
What would you want in your S&C training log?

i like turtles

^^ Solid, I'll keep that in mind.

turtles are good.

I would like a decent weight in my log, too light and you are not going to get any benefit from it, too heavy and it might be impractical to lift.

A good even weight distribution is key, a log with a big fat end is going to be awkward to lift and could injure you.

A coloured log would also be nice, plain old brown seems to obvious, maybe a range a day-glo logs would work well.

Also plane that shit down. You don't want to get splinters from the log as it would hurt like a motherfucker.

Also make sure all the creepy crawlies have been cleaned out of the log. Last thing you want is a bunch of spiders and shit falling on top of you when you lift the log up.

Lol, so are we talking about a log to train with or a log to track our training?

I think that they meant a log to track progress not a log to pick up. But...who knows.

I think a log should have the following info:

1. Day - Date

2. Start time, end time, total time of workout.

3. Place to record sets, reps, weight, as well as notes on specifics (tools used etc)

4. Place for notes on feelings such as R.P.E., any issues (injuries, sleep issues, etc),

I also have a chart I use with my clients that shows % of improvement. So I can see how many sets they did, as well as measure overall workout improvement based on % of exercises that were better than before. <--That may not be clear as I have written it but it is a simple tool and works well.

Lol, Lord that was pretty funny.

Fair enough.  I use a spreadsheet too but I had some request so I thought I would get your thoughts.

Thanks Taku!

I appreciate the input.
