Interested in hearing experiences about training jiu jitsu in the military. Did you retain your relationship and contact with each instructor each time you were reassigned or did you just move on?
also, how did it effect promotions and your progress?
Almost all my gym but 5 is army soldiers 6 of them are also ammy mma 3 are pro and all train every day if they can while being active duty see if your gym has a deployment/schooling policy like mine does. May I ask what state you live in 
Got all but the brown and black belts from different instructors. The only way it affected me is that it took a long time to reach black belt. I've contacted a few of my old instructors over the years, but some of them don't write back, not even on facebook. :-(
I currently live in Texas but it is actually my wife who is joining the military. So my daughter and I will be moving to wherever she gets stationed. 
Invincible that is a bummer they didn't respond even on Facebook. How long did it take to get to black belt? Just curious because you said it took you a long time.
