I was organizing my notes on the triangle choke today, and I found that I have THREE completely different techniques that have been called the "reverse" triangle. For the sake of simplicity, we'll only discuss the triangle choke with the legs.
(1) The triangle choke is applied with the "wrong foot" triangled. If my partner's right arm is in, I triangle "backwards" by placing my left foot under my right knee.
(2) The triangle is applied but we are in a relationship like North-South (our bodies are pointing in opposite directions). Perhaps I entered the triangle from underneath the side mount. My mechanics are like the standard triangle choke, but I am facing his lower body instead of his head.
(3) The triangle is applied from the back mount. I have a typical back mount, with two hooks or with a hook over the arm, and I apply the triangle. My mechanics are normal, and our bodies are facing the same direction, with our heads both at 12:00, but I am behind him.
I have seen all three of these kinds of techniques labelled a "reverse" triangle. I would like to use consistent terminology that distinguishes between these three entities. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I apologize for not posting pictures. I will attempt to find some.

(As a postscript, I realize that some variations of the choke combine MORE than one of these "reverse" characteristics. In other words, I might be on his back, with my head pointed towards his feet, which would fall under categories (2) AND (3). Is this a reverse reverse triangle? This is where I need separate terms.....)
