Triangle on the BIG guys..

Hey all. Lately, I have been having some trouble finishing triangles on some really built guys who are about 20 pounds heavier than me. I get the position pretty good, and I am sure that I could finish the choke if I was only able to tweak it here and there. Right now, they seem to be able to pop their head out eventually. I know that I should prolly switch to the omoplata, but I really want to get this triangle fixed. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Are you rotating/pivoting enought to cinch it tight?

Yeah, I am pivoting to tighten it up. Sometimes I also switch my legs the other way and then back to tighten it up, without any luck. Maybe I need to start pointing my toes and getting my knees closer together...

Its hard to say without watching you. When you say big you mean big belly or broad across the shoulders?

I mean big & muscular. I am 6'2 and about 190, so I am for the most part talking about guys my height and 230+.

Hmm....I would GUESS that probably the difficulty is occuring because you are not pivoting enough before you attempt to cinch it. I'm also guessing that when you attempt to cinch it that you are putting your foot in his hip to pivot on. If so, then try putting your foot on the ground instead. This will give you more leverage to pivot especially against someone who is strong and able to keep his weight down on you. MAKE SURE not to let go of your other leg while adjusting or you will lose it...
