That's right!!!Shut your mealy mouthin, troll baiting, sell outin, TUF noobin, 10er yappin gobs. SILENCE!
Everywhere I'm going lately I'm running into fuckers who want Couture to lose. And not particularly because they like Toney. It's been a lot lately. Wtf? I understand if it's an old boxing fan wanting to see boxing make a solid presence in modern fighting, but I don't accept the hate on Randy. Especially at the sake of the sport here.
Randy has been the finest caliber, super American badass to set the bar in MMA for athleticism and excitement. Can't tell you how many times the room would be on its feet to Randy's fighting displays. Dad strength always brought it home in style.
So this is an important clash of the sport's reps, I think. Lotta people are going to take notice. I feel like it's an important old school style vs style with both guys stellar reps on the line. So choose your sides. But if you consider yourself a true fan of MMA and you are wanting to see James Toney KTFO of Randy Couture you are a sick fuck troll who is saying shit strictly for the MFn lulz and subsequent trolls that would occur in the community you claim to support. Randy is MMA.
Randy is the guy in Valhalla you'd follow to Ragnarok.
Toney is not that guy.

I remember as a kid ordering UFC 15 and going crazy when Randy defeated Vitor Belfort.
I'm hoping Toney wins by KO.
Fury2Feed - Randy is MMA.
LOL
Only somebody who is a TUF noob would post this.

Disagree with a few things here...
- Boxing's reputation isn't at stake at all in this fight. It's an MMA fight between a 13-year veteran of the sport and multiple-time UFC champion against a pure boxer who has never competed in MMA before. Of course Toney only has a puncher's chance, and it's far less of a chance than certain people realize.
The only way that the reputations of boxing and MMA would be on the line here would be if they each competed in their opponent's sport.
- As for a lot of people taking notice, the matchup doesn't appear to be generating much buzz at all in the boxing community. The majority of boxing fans see this fight for what it really is -- a freak show that was set up by the UFC. They're not delusional when it comes to the most likely outcome of this fight being Couture getting Toney to the ground and securing a quick stoppage without breaking a sweat.
This matchup won't accomplish much of anything in terms of converting boxing fans into fans of both boxing & MMA.
- Neither fighter's reputation is on the line in this fight. If Toney goes out and gets steamrolled in less than a minute, it won't have an effect on his boxing legacy. He's competing in an entirely different sport. As for Couture, his legacy could be tarnished in the eyes of certain fans. Hell, look how quickly they all turned on Tim Sylvia after he was flatlined by Ray Mercer.
But it's highly, highly unlikely that he'll have any trouble at all on Saturday night, so it will be a moot point.
I want Randy to win, but I'm feeling a bit scared about the outcome, homie.
I hope Toney knocks Randys head off.
I love MMA.
There is nothing wrong with these two statements.
I respect Randy for entering the cage with a stone cold killer.
It won't convert a lot of fans, but it will make a difference in the conversations concerning MMA vs Boxing. But I fail to see what Couture getting 'humbled' again would serve? He's been KO'd before, it humbled him or it didn't. What does having some cheap working old boxer who generally thugged his ass into the scene win over him serve?
I would love to see Toney KO Couture...

I'm curious as to what difference you believe it will make in the boxing/MMA conversations. I say that in all honestly, not being smug or anything. Is it simply for bragging rights so that MMA-only fans can try to throw in the faces of boxing fans that a boxer lost in a sport he never competed in before, falsely believing that it has any relevance whatsoever? The vast majority of boxing fans expect Toney to get crushed. They'd laugh it off.
The entire debate is really ridiculous to me, as the elitists on both sides tend to be incredibly irrational. But if Couture runs through Toney as expected, what would that change? A former multiple-time UFC champion beating a punch-drunk former multiple-time boxing champion in an MMA fight? Not surprising in the least. When they fight in MMA, Couture should win. If they were to fight in boxing, Toney would win. Simple.
As for the hypothetical scenario of Couture losing (I'd be astonished if he did), it's not that it would humble him, it's that MMA fans would turn their backs on him and kick him to the curb the same way they did to Sylvia. They're incredibly fickle and quick to pile on a fighter after a loss and claim they were never any good to begin with. They specialize in doing that. It would inevitably happen again.
