Here's the thing, kids love their parents no matter what, their trained that way and part of it is biological. Part of the teenage rebellion is kids realizing there parents aren't the brilliant heros they thought they were and wanting more from them. Every teenager will say "if I were a parent I would do this or that, or how can my parents treat me like this".
Parents, this means we don't have to be their friend, they'll love us no matter what. Provide structure, accountability ie. discipline and beat your kids kod damn it.
