Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey’s account: HACK3D!!!

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey's Twitter account was seemingly hacked on Friday afternoon by a group that calls itself the Chuckle Squad. Twitter's communications team issued a statement via Twitter.

We're aware that @jack was compromised and investigating what happened.

The hackers used their time controlling Dorsey's account to plug a Discord server used for their own activity, asking people to join. The server invitation link tweeted out by the hackers is no longer valid at this time. The Verge has reached out to Discord for comment.

The hackers also tweeted racist terms from Dorsey's account. Reports suggest the tweets came from a source called Cloudhopper -- a company that Twitter previously acquired to help with its SMS service.

.@Jack's account has been hacked.

The Tweets are coming from a source called Cloudhopper. Cloudhopper was the name of the company Twitter acquired a long time ago to help bolster their SMS service.

It appears to be the same group that attacked a number of YouTube creators and influencers last week on Twitter, including beauty vlogger James Charles, Shane Dawson, and comedian King Bach. The hackers also allegedly gained access to Desmond "Etika" Amofah's Gmail account, as seen by screenshots collected in their Discord server.

Many of the influencers and YouTubers at the time suggested their accounts were breached following a SIM card swap conducted by AT&T employees.

"We are working with law enforcement, have restored the customers' service, and discussed ways to secure the account," an AT&T spokesperson told The Verge at the time of the attack on the aforementioned YouTube creators.

Attacks on other celebrities and online creators have occurred on Twitter that resemble Chuckle Squad's tactics. It's unclear if they belong to the same group, but Riverdale's Cole Sprouse also blamed a hack on his Twitter account on his "cell service provider."

The Verge has reached out to Twitter for more information.

If they're going to do it, they should have used the opportunity better.

Right. They should posted Jack's dms. You know there is some slimy shit in there.

If they can hack Jacks account, they can hack Trump's. Imagine what would happen if they did and tweeted "The US declares war on China, and we just fired 10 nuclear missles towards 10 of their major cities."

Guy obviously got mad and had a tantrum. Now he's blaming it on "I GOT HAX0R3D!1!!". Those are obviously his own tweets.

Typical SJW behavior.

No shit. I'm referring to people who live by twitter you miserable prick. The panic that kind of disinformation would create would be interesting to see. One need only look at what happened in Hawaii when an alert for a incoming ballistic missile was erroneously sent out

I don't believe it as they have login authentications.
