Earlier today former UFC lightheavyweight champion Jon Jones plead guilty to charge of leaving the scene of an accident, avoiding jail time. Jones and the UFC made official statements on the matter and Twitter responded mostly positive with the decision:

UFC quick with the Jon Jones statement. Still assumedly making sure all the commas are in the right place on that Vitor Belfort statement.

Jon Jones is a very lucky man. Hopefully he turns a new leaf and really makes a change in his life. This could have been a lot worse.

No jail time or felony conviction for Jon Jones after that hit-and-(literally)run. If you commit a crime in America, it helps to have money.

"Aljamain Sterling @FunkMaster_UFC
@marc_raimondi I'm a fan & former teammate of Jones. Although a different state, I'm baffled by the difference in sentence of him, Diaz & AS"

Criminal court and athletic commissions are not the same thing.....

Apples and orange.

So all you need is money to get off huh? So why are they all whining about Diaz's punishment?

He probably wont be able to go 18 months without drinking or sniffing coke off a hooker's tits, now let's see if he gets caught.

Not only is this barely a slap on the wrist, but only 18 months probation? I've never gotten that before. Typically it's 3 years at least.

Jeez how many hit and runs have you committed?
