Black Belts get tapped regularly, just like Cy Young winning pitchers get hit on, Stanley Cup winning goalies get scored on, Shut Down corners get caught on, Defensive Player's of the Year get dunked on, etc etc etc

Anyone can get caught. I've tapped my black belt instructor once and I'm a white belt. That doesn't make me better than him. In fact I probably just got lucky because I haven't gotten close since then. But it doesn't mean I can't do it. Shit happens.

Calzaghe's amateur record was 110–10.
Not as meaningful of course but still not flawless.
Pettis has been grappling for years (check youtube, some sick matches).
And trains under Daniel Moraes (royler gracie black belt) as a purple belt, A high level purple belt tapping a black belt isn't unheard of in BJJ, let alone in MMA.

How do they say it? The only thing a belt covers is 2 inches above your ass... You've got to cover the rest. Something like that...
