Tyler Dillashaw moving DOWN to challenge Cejudo

Breaking: TJ Dillashaw will move DOWN in weight to challenge Henry Cejudo for the flyweight title at UFC 233 on Jan. 26 in Anaheim, per multiple sources. Dillashaw will try to become UFC’s sixth male two-weight champ. Full story coming to .

TJ Dillashaw has been asking for a chance to move to 125 to win a second belt all year. UFC hasn't revealed its plan for that division, but it would appear to be on borrowed time. Jan. 26 could very well be the last flyweight title fight in UFC history, but not certain yet.

Whats the point, the division is gone

Whats the point, the division is gone

TJ can be a two weight champion, take the belt with him back to BW and then 125 just disappears.

I think we can now safely say or was Mighty Mouse ducking TJ the entire time. Probably because he was afraid of getting his ass beat just the way he did against Cruz. Props to Henry for taking the fight. Hope he gets paid more in this fight than any single fight of Mighty Mouse's career. So glad that whiney little no-drawing bitch is gone.

So basically TJ has nothing to lose.

Move down in weight where you should theoretically win... You don't risk your title... and you fight in a division that is disappearing anyhow.

This makes zero logical sense for the UFC... its the ultimate win/win for TJ

tj wants a second belt

sadly it will be the last fight in that division

I like it. Tj getting the chance to move down and become the last flyweight champion in the UFC. When they fold the division he will go down in history as the undistputed flyweight champion

Who's sad about it? Besides the smallest fighters within the division

I mean that was exciting when he wanted to do it to fight the coward mighty mouse. But Cejudo is more than willing to move up and that division is disbanding, feels a bit pointless. And if Cejudo DOES win, does he have to rematch TJ to get the belt at bantamweight? That's kinda dumb.

So much hate

In a weird way it makes sense. Farewell fight at flyweight, champ v champ. Too bad they couldn’t put 135 on the line as well to unify those belts.

This.

TJ wins, collapse division = job done.

Absolutely, Cejudo will stay in UFC and have to work his way up for a rematch at 135 but TJ and future champs will just be a two weight champ of some 125ers and 135ers

It kinda makes sense to drop down to do the fight because it gives each guy a potential champ champ status. Scenario A: T.J. drops down and wins second belt. Scenario B: Henry wins at 125 and they do the rematch at 135. Either way 125 goes away.

If they right away did it at 135 only Henry has the opportunity for champ champ.

This.

Its the perfect finish to the division.

EXACTLY that's why you have the champs of the two divisions fight each other before the division ends

Give tj a chance to become 2 weight champ first
