what type do you guys prefer the leather type (everlast)or the rubber type i was at sportsmart today and i couldnt make up my mind the everlast was 15lbs and the rubber one was 12lbs i figured i would ask here before buying one
The rubber ones have more bounce to them, and they are more durable. Also, the rubber ones are heavy for their size (the leather ones just keep getting ridiculously large as the weight goes up).
I'm surprise that you found a leather medicine ball. Those are hard to come by these days. However, there are a couple of threads made where the people here have made their own medicine ball (for a lot less). Let me find those threads and TTT them for you, in case you were looking for cheaper alternatives.

I actually prefer the leather medicine ball, mostly because they are NOT perfectly round (especially when they get old). It gives a little extra oomph to some drills to have the ball "out of true".
