These are the tasteless souvenirs that are available to buy in the gift shop at the 9/11 Memorial Museum, located just a few feet from the final resting place of 8,000 unidentified remains of victims from the tragedy.
Toy rescue dogs, baseball caps, glass ornaments of the Twin Towers and even flags, badges and magnets will be available for visitors to purchase. And according to the store's website, just 7.8 per cent of the more than 100 gift items are specifically listed as being made in the USA. The museum has yet to provide a full list of vendors to MailOnline.
But September 11 survivors and victims' families are outraged over the shop attached to the new 9/11 museum in Lower Manhattan, which is marketing the items on the worst terrorist atrocity in U.S. history.
"Here is essentially our tomb of the unknown. To sell baubles I find quite shocking and repugnant," Diane Horning, who lost her 26-year-old son Matthew in the attacks, told the New York Post.
