Salary figures came from the Nevada State Athletic Commission, via MMAJunkie.

The above figures are the fighter salary information that promoters are required by law to submit to the state athletic commissions, including the winners' bonuses.

The figures do not represent a full accounting of each fighter's income.

Fighters bear significant costs including training expenses, a percentage to management, a percentage to the trainer, plus insurance, licenses, and taxes.

On the income side, sponsorship money can be a substantial portion of the purse, although it is smaller for the mid tier fighters than it was in the past.. As well there are explicit 'of the Night' performance bonuses, and less formal 'locker room' bonuses.

Main event PPV fighters can receive a percentage of the PPV gross, variously determined.

Lastly, many fighters earn income from teaching, from appearances, and in many cases from regular employment in the non fighting space.

I really don't get how the loser of the co_main event gets double the money (without OTN bonus)that the loser of the main event gets? I am sure Big Rig was taken care of but the public figures don't make sense. 3 guys who lost 3 rd fights got paid the same or more???

This is my Captain Obvious post for the day, feel free to ignore me

How is lawler on TRIPLE what Hendricks is on?? Is that a set amount for every fight on their contract? Or can I change from fight to fight? Phone Post 3.0

Purses are based on a fighter's draw, not their position on the card. You know this.

Putting Chael on a card sells a lot of PPVs. Putting Hendricks on a card does not - yet. I suspect this will change once all this controversy raises his profile.

And of course, we all know Dana probably broke him off a nice "holy shit you just put a beating on the champ" bonus.

No, it's because he's still on his Strikeforce contract.  LOL at thinking the UFC would pay someone like Robbie that much (which they should by the way).

Kos makes $78K to show, in his 23rd straight UFC fight.  Robbie makes $83K to show in his 3rd UFC fight (this time around).  Robbie loses one and when it's time to renogiate that's getting cut in half.  UFightCheap

Same reason Woodley makes more that nearly everyone in the UFC after 13 career fights and 3 in the UFC

Dana talked about how Lawler was getting paid more in other (now defunct) organizations than he would have been in the UFC. His Strikeforce contract probably carried over, and stepped up with his previous wins over Kos and Voelker. How can you not be wicked happy for him?

How so? Guys on SF contracts are still getting SF contracted pay regardless of what their UFC opponents and/or peers earn.

Cindy

let say they did a 500k ppv buys how is this fair.

This is just fucking over the fighters and not giving 50% back to them as lorenzo once said in an interview

Ahhh, now you mention his Strikeforce contract.  He asked how Robbie can get paid more than Hendricks.  His SF contract was the correct answer in the first place.  You must have accidentally left that out.

if the UFC were smart, they would not sign any fighters to a contract, and would just feed off of these other oranizations, i,e,. Bellator, WSOF, One FC, etc, and they would just call up these fighters to the big leagues and make superfights, paying them a ridiculous amount of money, and, instead of putting preliminary fights on, they instead hold musical festivals before the fights for people that attend the live shows. They could hold title fights in each weight class once per year, and then 3 times per month, hold these super fights by putting together great match ups by holding 5 fights only per event (no undercard).UFC has already established themselves as the majors, and fighters fighting in these other organizations would never want to sign multi fight contracts with these lower organizations, they would want to sign single fight contracts on the chance that they could get called up to the majors. makes more sense to me so that the truly talented fighters can make money in the millions, and UFC has the marketing for that.

Here would be an example of the first fight card:

Jose Aldo vs Danial Strauss

Attila veigh vs Jon Jones

cain velasquez vs viataly minakov

Alexander Schlemenko vs Chris Weidman

Eddie Alvarez vs Anthony Pettis.

Musical Guests before the fights start:

Kanye West with special guests: Imagine Dragons and Tobey Kieth - showcasing a variety to three different musical genres to appeal to the variety of the fans in attendance

The fights were with Bellator and UFC to show the variety of fights to make. But with all the current UFC fighters dispersed throughout these organizations the match ups could look different

UFC could also market themselves as the big leagues of MMA

You could also give the winners of each fight 80 percent of the earnings, to make the stakes that much higher. The winners would be getting paid in the millions per UFC fight. And most fighters that lose, they could still go make there money for a living in these other organizations. So it would be a gamble to go and fight in the big leagues. Literally win, or go home type of fighting.
