a bit of the Hendricks personality that other fighters have talked about (going back to his days in college) trickled out a bit during that 1. I understand (sorta) his mindset about the belt but there's a friendlier way to go about it. Obviously that wasn't his 1st time in that situation you would think he would have a go-to line to diffuse the situation at this point. 'You can touch it but to take a pic with the belt you gotta beat me up 1st for it' - awkward laughter - done.

Man, I used to like Hendricks but the more I see of him in the media, the more I grow to resent that guy. Just let the bitch take a photo with the belt.

I'm not really a fan of Hendricks but who cares if he's possessive over the belt. Everyone has their quirks. It's maybe a little different if he said no to a kid but as an adult it shouldn't be a big deal not to take a picture with it.
I'll bet plenty of athletes who win championship rings don't pass it around for fans to wear and take pictures with either.

I think it's awesome and very honest of him to equate the belt with all the pain and sacrifice he went through to get it. Also asking athletes to pose with their belt is kinda lame.
That being said he's gonna have to go through hell to keep it in Texas!
