Until the horrible footage of Kimbo it looked like the exact same character models from 2009. I really hope that they don't plan on just making a game with an updated roster because EA MMA will smash it.
Way to not see the differences... with head movement, etc.
Was Guida in it? I need to fight Kenny 20 times to try to make myself feel better.
Anyone have a link to the video?
The models are great in 2009, just needs some gameplay improvement eg, feints, slicker combos, switch stance, bob and sway. I hope they also increase the freedom in the create a fighter, eg, fat bodies, ultra skinny etc you should be able to create some freaks or just some fat bodies like big country.
can't really tell how good the game will be from less than 20 seconds of gameplay shown but i'm sure they'll release a new trailer by january/feb.
hopefully the career mode is better.
Are you kidding me? I just rewatched the trailer numerous times (just the gameplay.) Don't be fooled, BJ had something very similar to that in 2009 when he punched and it was actually nothing more than a "special" punch where he ducked back after throwing.
I'm sorry, I don't have much faith in it. Much too soon to be bringing out another when there was a lot that needed fixed in the first. Looks to me like they're going to throw in a couple new subs (which will make a total of what, 8-9? or is that too many?) And we /may/ see a lean system which will likely end up being just as annoying as the catch system.

they must change the way submissions work (button/rotate spamming) or I won't even consider buying it

C) The use of the cage. Not being able to clinch and push up against the cage and see the cage bend to your weight was a big complaint in 2009. Hopefully Randy Couture is in this new version and if so the use of the cage is critical to his fight style as well as several other fighters like Fitch, Tito, GSP, etc.
couture signed with EA so i doubt he'll be in the new UFC game.
Randy is signed to an exclusive deal with EA to use his likeness in videogames. The difference between Randy's deal and the UFC fighter's deals is that Randy makes money to be in videogames.
I was able to watch a better quality version (having only seen the TV version once) and I can see the head movement. Still not all that impressive. Cage bending, bleh, it will mean something if you can actually do something with the cage.
That said, looks like it's going to be a recycled roster with a few new guys (which isn't much when you don't offer DLC,) a few new moves, and ducking.
I'm willing to bet EA is going to score the win. Their career mode alone is just sick.
To note, I was a heavy critic of the EA game and very pro on the UFC game before it came out. THQ's lack of updates and maintaining of the game was the major problem for me, it was a heavily flawed system that could have been fixed with a few updates.
blue63 - lol @ making an assumption of what the game is going to be based off of 10 seconds of gameplay footage.
Talk about looking for BS to troll with...
It's not a troll. You can look at the footage and see that it's a completely recycled version of 2009. They didn't fix the first game, that is my complaint, don't expect to have a working second title.
The fact is 2009 was a bunch of the same fighters with different "skins." The diversity was lacking and you literally had the majority of what the game had to offer in the original demo.
EA is taking the time to actually work specifically on each fighter. I'd rather have 20 unique fighters than 100 guys that fight the same with little difference (if any) in moves.

The way the character models look is the last thing I'm worried about. I could care less if they looked exactly the same. Game play is what matters.
I doubt EA will smash it either just look at NBA Live or Fight Night round 4.
If EA MMA is anything like Fight Night 4 it's going to be way better than the UFC game. Fight Night round 4 is fucking awesome and Undisputed sucked.

Well I would hope so considering almost everyone was already in 2009. Would you want them to take guys out of the roster? LOL Also there has been no mention of the career mode in the EA game so you dont know if it will be good or not. But I'm sure THQ will improve their career mode.Coleko - Looks very similar to me.
LOL You do realize its a remake from last year right? Of course its going to look similar.
I'll just say this, you're welcome to look through my threads, I have been talking about the EA Game since WAY before it was announced. In fact look at some of my threads around the time of the -first- footage of Undisputed.
The EA Game is a lot farther along than Brett Rogers and Fedor. Also you will be very surprised by the career mode. It doesn't have the restrictions of the UFC brand. It will be much more in depth and expect not only progression from an amateur to pro but also depending on choices where to train can/will determine your upcoming fight locations/promotions.
As I said, it's much further ahead. Unless Undisputed 2010 does something drastic expect a very huge difference in the diversity of fighters between the EA title and THQ title.
It will be virtually the same game, but the UFC fanboys will eat that shit up and buy the game every year.
It better have TKO's from leg kicks, or they can fuck right off.
Its too early to say wich game is gonna be better. Regardless im buying both, so i dont even understand why its an issue
nobones - How is it more in depth? Fighting in different locations? That's already possible in UFC Undisputed 2009. I don't know why fighting in different promotions would be interesting can you elaborate? Can you elaborate you just say the career mode is so good, but so far I have no idea what that really means.
Truth be told I am not sure how much I can elaborate. I wish Mayhem or someone would post up on here as I know they can confirm. I'll say this, fighting in different locations was very cool in the fact that just the different rule sets alone was awesome. Kicks to the ground may be legal in one place but not elsewhere, same with elbows (and I am sure many other differences.)
And yes there is fighting off the cage.
Feel free to call me a liar, it won't be the first time I have been told that on here (see first Canada show cancelled thread.)
