In a very rare occurence, the UFC's upcoming PPV has no fighters born in the States in the top 3 billed fights.
Main Event - Nunez (Bra) v Shevchenko (Rus)
CME - Yoel (Cub) v Whittaker (Aus)
3rd - Reem (Ned) v Werdum (Bra)
This is just something that may have never happened before in the UFC that is interesting for the stat nerds like me. Huge fights in the UFC that have no Americans involved are pretty rare but they always remind me of PRIDE for some reason. What are some of your favorite big headlining or CME UFC fights w no Americans?
Strange to see that GSP wasn't on my list as I was never too pumped to see him compete in the few bouts he had v non-USA fighters (Alves, Hardy), . Here's a few for me that come to mind, I know I'm missing greats.
I live in Miami. All Spanish speakers down here generally refer to people from the States as "Americans" or "North Americans" basically disregarding Canada. So I apologize if what I was stating is confusing to anybody.
just to clarify, born in the states. But you know that.
America is an immigrant country, but you know that.
"In 2013, over 40 million foreign-born representing 13% of the population resided in the United States."
About 1 in 7 on the US streets are not born here.
4 of the 6 fighters in the top 3 fights train/live in America.
Nunes and Shevchenko both live in the US, as does Werdum. Fabricio is fighting out of Los Angeles, Amanda fights out of Miami, Schevchenko is fighting out of Colorado.
It's funny watching these MSM narratives spill out here, like America doesn't take immigrants in anymore or something.
Then the numbers come out.
We are the most inclusive Country in the world. Our strength is unmatched, because it's built through unparalleled diversity.

Does it really matter what some Spanish speakers in Miami say? They should assimilate better.
Stop spinning shit to attack America.
This might be the most American thing I've ever seen. It's possible to be Cuban and American also.

God bless America! The only country where everyone is an immigrant and can move to and be an AMERICAN!
CRE sorry to touch the political nerve. Not sure where the attack was but if you spend too much time on the UG I guess a person can read things in a tone that may be looking to instigate or rile up those w/ certain political leanings up since most message boards tend to do that sort of thing. I wasn't looking to create a 12 page thread arguing about immigration. Especially not w somebody who has provided me with many entertaining threads over the years.
Re-read the original post as somebody who enjoys a sport that has gone global and likes that people from all over the world can have a chance to compete at the highest level. If I'm getting in the way of schtick lemme know and I'll edit this out so you can fuck around on this thread.
