:)
Always....
Though to clear up a troll's troll...I have never sent Bab Carlson an email in my life...:)
Sweet!
Although the same people that bash the UFC for not giving Chuck tough fights are now gonna bash the UFC beause they didn't let Rampage get enough tune up fights.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Hmmm I changed a few things there...I'll make sure your in the new system.
It is so clear what is going to happen. Obviously Rampage has signed a contract extension if he is getting Chuck. Dana does not give title fights to people with 1 fight left and that is just good business IMO. Even though I think Chuck can beat Rampage, I wouldn't be too surprised if Rampage wins and Wand comes in and beats him for the belt to rise Wands stock and set up Dana's wet dream match between Chuck and Wand.
The most logical matchup for both right now. As for this coming to soon for Rampage, others have gotten a titleshot in their very first UFC fight, and Rampage has certainly been fightin at the highest level long enough (and actually holds a win over Chuck).
Agreed...If Rampage isn't ready for a fight against top level competition at this point in his career, he never will be.
If he manages to somehow beat Chuck again, I'll fall off my chair...My pick is Liddell by KO Rd1 or early Rd2...Remember, the last time they fought Chuck was injured as hell, and wasn't used to the Ring...This time it's on his turf...He should cut Page in half relatively easily.
If Chuck does win though I can see a bunch of people saying
"Well the only reason Chuck won is because UFC wouldn't let Rampage get enough warm up fights. UFC PROTECTS THEIR POSTERBOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
which of couse is dumb.
I was hoping Rampage would take this but I think Liddell has improved enough to beat him. I don't think anyone in the UFC can beat Chuck right now, maybe Rashad but I don't think he's ready yet.
why does rampage need warmup fights, hasn't he been fighting the best fighters in the world for years?
"Remember, the last time they fought Chuck was injured as hell, and wasn't used to the Ring..."
So its fine making excuses for Chuck not getting used to the Ring but Rampage should right away be used to the cage? He should have had at least one more tune up fight.
Tune up fights? The guy is a professional. He's training everyday. He's been fightng. Maybe not as regularly as Chuck. I don't see how feeding him a couple shitbags are going to make him any more prepared for chuck.
He's ready, i'm sure. And i thhink he's gonna beat Chuck....handily.
Rampage has a much better chin than anyone CHuck's fought. And i think the cage is a definitive advantage for Rampage.
Chuck WAS used to the ring, he had already beaten Guy Mezger and Alistair Overeem in Pride.
Rampage doesn't deserve the shot, yet.
He should fight Evans. Forrest should fight chuck when he heals. Jardine should fight Machida.
Rampage should beat Evans (bad matchup for Evans, to say the least). Machida should beat Jardine.
Machida v. Rampage for ctitle shot.
BUT the LHW division is so screwed that it's hard to make good matchups.
the ring does neither hinder Chuck nor does the cage help him anyway. It's not like he uses the fence to control his opponent and take him down like Randy or Tito do. If anything, the cage might be an advantage for Rampage.
Knit Picking...Ok...He was no stranger to the ring...But fact is, when page had him down on the side of the ring, If that would have been a cage, Chuck would have used it to get up...But since it was a ring, he just got stuck there, and with a pulled groin (I think it was) he was kind of helpless...And lost the fight because of it.
I can't see that happening again. Not to mention, that fight made Chuck realize he had a hole in his game, and he has since fixed that issue.
Rampage is in deep water with this fight, anything is possible..But the smart money is on Liddell for sure.
evilmaster with a good post.
rampage doesnt look refined as he use to, at least not against marvin. chuck liddell has refined the sloppy to work for him like no ones business and as i see it, the balance in skill slightly and momentum heavily favors chuck right now. rampage is not a bum though. i think it will be a good fight and everyone knows chuck hates when he cant finish early and gets frustrated. its cost him before. rampage is good enough to not get beat quick. dare i say it might go to decision?
I don't buy the whole "he needs more fights in a cage to get used to it" argument.
Rampage's last two fights have been in a cage (as well as having fights in a cage early in his career).
71 looks like a good card......
