1-how in the hell did Thomas Ramirez get a shot in the tourney??who got injured at the last minute to where they had to pick a guy out of the stands situation??seriously he is the worst fighter in ufc history..
2-IF Ferrozzo would have gotten past Bohlander, who would have won, him or Goodridge??that would have been a good fight eventhough ferrozzo didnt have much gameplan against bohlander other than to push him against the fence..wtf.....
3-wtf was Varelans strategy against Moreira??he was just out there taking the occasional punch...awful fight...how did varelans continue to get fights in the UFC, he had zero skill, just tough..
4-did Goodridge crush herreras soul in that fight, thus ending his mma career or did he ever fight again??that was brutal...
5-does anyone remember what the original card was??or was this it??
Which fighter banged the skanky Asian ring girl?
- wasn't ramirez just the local talent?
2. goodridge would've won. ferrozzo was just a big used-car salesman at that point and hadn't begun training seriously.
3. varelans didn't want to go to the ground. he got fights because he was big.
4. goodridge broke herrera's jaw.
5. no clue.
"Which fighter banged the skanky Asian ring girl? "
scott ferrozzo inexplicably had mimi miyagi rooting for him alongside his wife. i had many video cassettes of mimi miyagi in my collection.
Ramirez was just a "local legend". Allegedly a street fighting legend in Puerto Rico (not something to put on a resume).
Guess I wouldn't have any trouble in a street fight in reggaeton ville
Paul Varelans is the one who got hurt & was replaced by Sam Adkins.
I have seen Herrera post here and comment on the Goodridge fight.
Ramirez was in one of those TMA mags (blackbelt?) saying he could pwn any NHB fighter and that he was undefeated in tons of no rules fights.
^^i would love to see Ramirez striking skills in a backyard fight against kimbo...Ramirez had no footwork or handspeed...wtf was he thinking??
Varelans claimed he broke his foot by moreiras footstomps...
a Frye/Bohlander fight would have been great in the tourney eventhough frye would have beaten him down...
it sucks a Tank/Goodridge fight never happened especially with the good storyline behind it with Goodridge brutalizing Tanks disciple..
I went to the UFC live that was supposed to be Tank/Goodridge. In fact, Tank/Goodridge was still on the poster as we walked in and the fight ended up being Chief Andre Roberts/Goodrige. People were pissed.
Ramirez had one of the best taglines under his name (the 3 attributes they give for every fighter while they are entering the octagon, like Baboo Baby for Amir)

Ramirez lost to Keith Hackney in a closed door fight to see who would fight in UFC 3.
Hackney won and made it to UFC 3, yet Ramirez was eventually brought back for UFC 8.

Does not beat one of Paul Varelans attributes as a......."Thinker"
Look it up.
I think Varlens actually had potentially, he was tough but I remember his saying that he couldn't find anyone to train him. He made a short run post UFC and lost some weight with the help of Frank Shamrock, but it was like he gained a little skill and lost his natural instincts.
Varlens did have some decent downward standing elbows by early standards.
ttt for nhb
Herrera apparently fought again once, like 6 years later. What's interesting is that in that fight he beat Joe Moreira who was in that same UFC 8 tournament with him.

PrideGP is The GAME - Didn't Saku fight Herrera?
No way.
