UFC adding 115 lb. Weight Class.

Thoughts? Isn't that called the Strawweight Division? Or is it Paperweight? Phone Post

Enough with the women weights. Phone Post

Surely these guys can eat a McDonalds and fight at Flyweight?? Phone Post

I think it will be a long time before you see them add that div.

It took a while for them to add 125, 115 is even more shallow in terms of talent.

I think that plan is years and years down the road, once they open up Asia more and Mexico and you get more talent in the div then they might look to add that div. I'd say it would be atleast 3 years before they even plan adding that div, probably longer.

They need to focus on 125/135 right now and let a 115 div build itself up. It took a while for 125 to build itself and you are just now seeing that div fill out with some legit talent. 115 is even more shallow so I think it will take twice as long to build that div outside the UFC.

If they add 115 then they should add womens divisions Phone Post

I'd rather they bring 135 females with Ronda, Cyborg, Tate, SK, McMann etc over before a mens 115.

Just not enough talent in that div at the moment, maybe in 3-5 years building the div more in Asia and more in Brazi/Mexico etc they can look to add it.

People need to relax because they arent adding it any time soon, if ever. Who knows if the talent will be there, they can find in a few years it hasnt built itself up like they thought so they scrap the plans for that div.

Right now I can only name 2 fighters at 115, M 16 and I think Ito, both I think can fight at 115 and 125.

Agreed. I can't imagine a 135 women's division is any less deep than a mens 115. Phone Post

Right now female 135 is 10x deeper than mens 115.

Atleast you have Ronda, Tate, possibly soon Cyborg, you have SK, McMann, you can make a decent div with 10 to 15 fighters in the UFC at 135, plus Ronda is a star.

Mens 115 I can only think of M 16 and Ito as guys in that div. Even if you can find enough guys they would all be no name Asians that most people never heard of.

The div is years away from being a reality. I personally think they should cut it off at 125 and focus on building 25/35. Right now BW needs all the help it can get. If in a few years the talent at 115 becomes stronger maybe look to add it but right now focus on the divs you have, or on female 135. When SF folds in a year or 18 months they have a big decision to make about that div, do they let Ronda go to Bellator/Invicta and be a star for them?

I don't want to watch that. Just my opinion. Phone Post

Before this thread get out of hand Id just like to add that the UFC is not adding the 115 division.

115 pound men? wtf? no thanks please for fucks sake no pleassseee NOOOOOO

I agree with most of these comments. 115 is too small. Building up the 8 weight classes they have now should be priority #1. Phone Post

Didn't know so many UG'ers were scouting agents.... Phone Post

Too many weight classes. Dana has even complained about it in the past, saying that's why it's hard to watch boxing because there are 20 different weight divisions.

This. I wasn't thrilled for 125, 115 is just ridiculous. 7 is fine Phone Post

Sean Santella could run that division.
