El Toro UK - Yeah I remember Lorenzo saying this at some UK sports conference LMAO

Betwithme - The UFC is very fair. If you are worth something to them. Like any business they reward people that do a good job.

People that lose, fight boring, complain. They won't be treated as well.

Conor had a mediocre record coming in He made his own opportunities and now is probably the highest paid fighter in under 2 years. UFC provides opportunities, it's up to the fighters to use them. Phone Post 3.0

A mediocre record? He was a 2 weight world champion lol Phone Post

That's your response? I'm glad you admit defeat. Phone Post 3.0

Lol I'm not in competition with you, Internet worrier. I'm highlighting UFC pay scale is completely unfair and that is the one and only reason they don't want unions involved, because then they'll be forced to distribute there enormous wealth more fairly. Unions were made for the workers not the born rich stay rich. Phone Post

Fascinating post, thanks for sharing.

All the stories about low fighter pay & the Reebok deal have suddenly transformed the UG into haven for business administrators, MBA's, & economists. I for one am excited to see these great minds impart such profound knowledge and wisdom. I look forward to a thesis on Austrian Economics, the Laffer Curve, and Adam Smith & how it applies to fighter pay & the Reebok deal.

While you are still in our midst, we would love to hear your thoughts on String Theory, particle acceleration, quarks, & supermassive black holes.

Once again, a most sincere thank you.

Do you know what a fvcking contract is bro?

In some cases it's even more, Manchester United player Wayne Rooney earns £300,000 a week which is $465,000 Phone Post 3.0

Man Utd. have more fans in China than the UFC has worldwide.

Not even close in terms of scale or revenue, for that matter. Football is srs bzns.

United is worth 1 Billion Dollars!

manchester united shits $100 bills compared to the UFCs $10 bill machine.

The reason UFC did this ridiculous Reebok garbage is because they went to that Sports franchise conference a couple of years ago and saw what teams like Man United were getting paid in kit sponsor deals and wanted to get in on it.

The problem is Man United are a team than need a uniform look and they are much bigger than the UFC so they get way better deals from a way bigger company.

You have no clue how much the UFC makes so you can't say if they are greedy or not. Phone Post 3.0

A main eventer billion dollar company just got paid 12grand. What don't you get? The wages for the fighters are not fair, it's plain and simple. Phone Post

Duffey most likely has an agent, they negotiated a deal with the UFC, they agree'd to terms and signed a contract. What is so hard to understand about this you fucking retard? Phone Post 3.0

I understand that, thanks. UFC are taking advantage of him and he doesn't really have other options. You can negotiate terms with and agent like you can negotiate terms with an underage prostitute but that doesn't make it right does it? You fucking retard Phone Post

United have an estimated 600m fans worldwide. Sorry, but MMA is nowhere near that level, yet.

That estimate is complete bullshit though. It's basically anyone who has ever interacted with them. Phone Post 3.0

The debt is irrelevant to the net worth, maybe check to find the UFC's debt? last I heard it had reached $450mil

Is this like how that pornstar is now suing her employer because she got caught doing porn? Was she forced into signing a contract? Was she being taken advantage of? That's a weak argument. If Duffy didn't want that contract, there are probably dozens who would take his place. It's a free market. He's paid what he's worth. All you communists and free loaders need to pull your panties up. Real men like Conor work for what they get and that's who the UFC value. Phone Post 3.0

What Market? Apart from the UFC? Lol Phone Post

everyone knows football teams hemorrhage money like no tommorow, and are playthings for their trillionaire owners

the UFC exists through loans and is perpetually in a state of oweing money

The only reason Manchester United carries that debt is because Malcom Glazer took out a shit load in loans to purchase the club.

Prior to that, they were comfortably the richest and most famous sports franchise on Earth, they still are in many ways and are surely a larger franchise than the UFC, but the debt does play a factor in their current valuation and has affected their ability to spend on players for a period of time, allowing other clubs to catch up.

That's not what you think.

United was purchased through a leveraged buyout by the Glazers (Tampa Bay Bucs) in like 2005? The debt was then loaded onto the team. The last decade United has been paying that debt down, but the debt is still there. They don't operate at a loss. United is arguably the most profitable football team in the world. Its global revenue is enormous. The loss of CL footie last year was a ding to that revenue stream, but the improved sponsorship deals that kicked in last year/this year offset that loss.

This year they are back in the CL and the debt will probably be gone in a couple more years. Then you will see United flex its financial might even more than this year/last year.
