UFC Columbus- WHAT AN ATMOSPHERE!

Been to 2 UFCs in Vegas, and now 1 UFC in Columbus, and all can say is WOW, the atmosphere in Columbus tonight was unreal!

Packed from the prelims, all the way through til the finale. The crowd was into it!

One for the ages!

was good to see. what was the final attendance?

ttt

Only thing that was really terrible was the booing as soon as anderson was on the screen and the INSTANT he started speaking portuguese.

Just got back from UFC 68 to cincy, what a night i was really happy that they came out to OH, i been to one UFC in L.V. i like 68 much better. Hope they come here to cincy like Rich said. Great night

Yeah, booing Portuguese is nothing but white-trash behavior.

Rogan's rant about stand-ups was pretty entertaining. :)

^ I agree. IF they had done the same thing in vegas they would have been too drunk to stop and listen :)

Franklin came off looking amazing. Anderson Silva is the man as well.

"the atmosphere in Columbus tonight was unreal!

Yeah it seemed pretty intense. And I was really happy to see all the seats filled already at the start of the PPV.

Also, I guess because wrestling is big in Ohio, I was kind of shocked at the lack of booing during really long ground sessions. There was very little booing for ground fighting.

All in all seemed like a great crowd.

"Yeah, booing Portuguese is nothing but white-trash behavior."

I think the crowd was booing Silva because he beat Rich, who was the obvious hometown favorite last night. The crowd tried to show their support for Rich by booing one of his future opponents.

I'm sure some of the fans may have simply been booing because of nationality, but I think idiots can be found everywhere.

^^^

You're kidding right?

Dude, I had a different perception of the place. The crowd was very quiet
for many of the fights and did a good job of holding their boo's until the
Hughes fight. Couture's performance and first punch woke the place up
and saved the show. To be honest, my area was out of it they all seemed
to be educated fans.

Tait, there was also a Metrex meathead convention down the street. There
were constant mobs of meatheads in zuba pants, hi-tops and military
style haircuts walking around with their big bags of free supplements and
body building posters.

UFC 68 people watching rating = A+!!!!!!

The atmosphere was amazing.

Columbus is a great town to have a UFC. Everything went so smoothly this weekend.

The only thing that really upset me was the booing of Anderson Silva. That made no sense to me what so ever. Ohio fans still upset over the Franklin loss I guess.

But what a weekend, and I cant wait to come back. Ill make that drive from Chicago anytime for a UFC.

TBidness

It was probably hard to tell from just the PPV, but people were definately booing Anderson because he beat Rich, not because he's Brazillian. There were only a couple times the whole night where I thought the crowd was "wrong". Forget which fight, but there was one where someone was working for a sub. (and had it half on already) and the crowd was chanting "stand them up". Other than that, everyone was pretty well-behaved, and the show was awesome.

When Couture won the belt... I've never been in a building that loud, when Rogan said it was deafening, he wasn't kidding.

no shit. Loud as Fack.
Real MMA fans, not the pantywaists you find @ the Vegas and especially Cali shows

When Couture won, the place was nuts.

Actually, when there was like 15 seconds left, and people knew for sure, it started getting louder, and louder, and louder. Electric atmosphere.

I've reffed everything else but stepping into that octagon Sat. night w/ 20,000 people out there was a rush like I have never had. Lawdog whattup?

btw, good job out of you mark!

Yeah,  good job Mark...and is it really pronounced Mu-Theen-Ee?

Mark "The meanie" Matheny for a ref nickname??

Glock...I've been called worse.....

"but people were definately booing Anderson because he beat Rich, not because he's Brazillian."

LOLOL.. I'm glad you were able to read the minds of so many to come to this enlightened conclusion.
