The UFC has held three events during the COVID-19 global pandemic, and thus far, it was a success. Just one fighter, Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza, and two of his cornermen tested positive. Jacare had reported that a family member had COVID-19 when he arrived and was tested, but in the time it took for test results to come back, Jacare repeatedly broke social distancing guidelines, and weighed in.
Now Nolan King for MMA Junkie reports that at Saturday's UFC on ESPN 9 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, the COVID-19 protocols have been tightened, presumably in light of what happened with Jacare.
Fighters are again required to test upon arrival, but now must self-isolate in the fighters hotel until the results come back. The definition of self-isolation has tightened as well:
"You should not leave the Athlete Hotel or have physical contact with anyone other than the members of your camp until you have received your test result.”
Athletes who test negative will be allowed to continue their fight week proceedings. Fighters who test positive will be instructed to remain in their hotel rooms and await further instructions."
Fighters will again be tested after weigh-ins, and again must self-isolate, avoiding physical contact with non-camp-members, until it is time to head to the arena:
“During this time, no athletes or cornermen will be permitted to leave the Athlete Hotel without express prior approval from the Nevada State Athletic Commission.”
Fighters and corners will be tested yet again prior to leaving the hotel for the arena.
The UFC PI will as well be off limits during fight week.

If I or a loved one have a compromised immune system I would take every precaution within reason to stay vigilant. Otherwise it belies all common sense to quarantine perfectly healthy people. That's not how you strengthen your immune system.
Every field hospital that was built for this massive pandemic never saw one patient and now they're all being dismantled. Hospitals were never overrun with Corona patients. Another big waste of tax payer dollars while sinking small businesses in the process.
