orcus -  I don't understand the title given that you seem to be arguing that Rampage has regressed or de-volved, rather than evolved. Which I agree with.







i think he ment his evolution as a boxer has caused a detriment to have he was before or that he's evolved his stand up too far.
Yep, devolution implies he started out well rounded. He really rounded out his game in the last years of PRIDE.



I was also using evolution because it is implied that continual development is always a good thing, but often it ends up detracting from a fighter's original talents.

Yeah, against Wand, he was still using his wrestling though was that only fight 1? Did he try for any tds in fight 2?

He got railroaded by Shogun from the bell.

He was sprawling and brawling on Arona for the most part but Arona still had him in some danger on the ground in guard.

I think Rampage went one dimensional for the latter parts of his Pride days.

He did slam Lindland between Pride and the UFC but that was more opportunistic than him proactively mixing it up perhaps.
