UFC on bt sports is ppv tonight... (UK...)

For those in the UK wanting to watch the event at 3am it'll be on bt sports box office only, so your subscription is useless.

Guess who won't be buying it!

Edit === starts on ppv UFC 238. I misread, UFC will move to ppv from 238.

Tonight's is on BT Sports 1... 239 is the 1st BT PPV... that's when I'll start streaming

BT will lose more money in cancelled subscriptions than they will make from the PPV buys.

Who the fuck is going to pay £30 a month for BT Sport then an extra £20 to watch an event starting at 3am?

Ridiculous, luckily my bt sport contract is up. Anyone know how much their going to charge and is it going to be for every American ppv?

Its not going to work regardless, it's a different market to America, no ones having friends over for beers and ufc and no ones paying extra money to watch the weak cards they put out these days

They are so outdated with their obsession with ppv. ppp is nearly dead and the UFC and boxing are the only things keeping it alive aside... And boxing is moving AWAY from ppv....

What the fuck are the UFC brass thinking here? UK fans have never had to pay because the shit is on at 4am… its the tradeoff…

Truth is mma in the UK has declined around 70% in the past five years. Its not as mainstream anymore. Its very niche. Everyone knows mgregor and the old fighters.

I didn't know ufc events are moving to ppv on BT after this one. Time to start downloading events the next day again.

Looking at it now on the guide.

BT Sports 1. UFC Live. No mention whatsoever of it being PPV.

Recording set up as normal which wouldn't be allowed if it were PPV?

My bad, from 238 it moves to ppv.

Yeah the marketing above seems to be messed up.

239 is the first PPV, with Jones.

238 tonigt is as normal

I'm hearing there will be four PPV's per year on BT. That's how it begins though, they'll let the consumer adjust to that then add another two etc.

I will resist, I can't be bothered to stay up that late anymore so I'll just read the results the following morning. Over time I'll probably stop watching all together.

Is 239 being PPV a one time thing or are they currently planning to move it there for every event going forward?
