UFC on FOX 4 fights

im not saying to be mr sunshine.

but you could be a little more positive.

the card has fireworks written all over it, it doesnt have big names like Anderson Silva or THE MAN Chael P Sonnen (kidding), but it doesnt have a bad fight either.

I agree they need a stacked card but the summer is their biggest time of the year.

I agree they could take the hit on PPV to make a stellar Fox card, but with buys declining they seem like they would just be waiting it out until the end of the summer. Then im sure UFC on FOX 5 will have a title fight on it.

Humphrey - man I hope the numbers start going up for this stuff. if the UFC blows this and FOX dumps them, then what are we left with?
You think fix will dump them and pay them 100 million dollars a year for no programming? <img src="/images/phone/apple.png" alt="Phone Post" border="0" style="vertical-align:middle;"/>

lol I dont think you know how contracts work.

um, I think are the one who doesnt know how contracts work

Stann vs. Lombard - Main Event

Ryan Bader vs. Lyoto Machida - Co-Main

Travis Browne vs. Ben Rothwell- Great fight, guarantee fireworks!

Terry Etim vs. Joe Lauzon - Two guys coming off devastating KO losses. This is where it gets tricky, I would like to see this fight on the FOX card because I am a fan of both guys...

Phil Davis vs. Chad Griggs - Buuuuut! This fight is in the way. Phil Davis is just coming of a loss, but he was the main event on the last FOX card. I don't think they would bump him from main event to prelims or whatever... Phone Post

Zombie Flanders - You honestly believe FOX would sign 7 yr deal that they couldnt back out of with a niche sport that hasnt had long term success on network television???

Yes, I guarantee they did. Nobody is that dumb, and I didnt think it would be an overnight success, im sure noone else either.

^ I dont fault them for the card... I agree it looks like a really fun card with great fights.  And I also dont think it wise to burn through the stars they built up with spike by placing them on fox.  They are buring through their fanbase enough by placing relevant and important fights on on fuel... if they canablize further with fox they are gonna bleed even quicker.

The problem is FX... my problem is that Dana overestimated the impact of what the abortion called tuf live would make and as a result they are bleeding fans by the week. All they need to do is fix the FX portion of the deal and everything else will take care of itself...

Get 2 million eyeballs on FX every week and you'll consistently get 4 million fox and you'll consistently get thousands of fans requesting fuel to catch up or go more in depth with the sport.

Move tuf to a better night and create a weekly live fight event series, move the fuel main cards to FX, absorb SF into the ufc and move the showtime cards to fx.  Add those in with the ppv prelims and the 4 fox shows and you get 40 weeks of live accessible, consistent, live event sports programming.

The FX and fox prelims and the prelims that used to air on shoextrem are more than enough live event programming for fuel.

Fuel needs to cater to the hardcore fans, FX needs to cater to the casual fans and Fox needs to cater to the main stream fans.

Right now it's all mixed up.

FX wont move tuf to a better night because that's their leverage in negotiating for a live fight series and Zuffa is telling fox the contract you signed gets you Diaz/miller and lombard/stann type of fights and Zuffa kept SF around as leverage in case things went south and they were stuck in a bad relationship with fox they could simply transition UFC stars to SF and ppv only as leverage.

You can see that happening with ppv now... Zuffa is stacking them.  They placed an extra fight on the ufc 145 ppv main card   Mcdonald vs Miguel was initially scheduled for FX.  Fox didnt promote the diaz/miller fight.

They are both positioning themselves for renegotiation because the current deal isnt working

There is a lot they can change.

I think the production should be different, feel different between each level of card.

PPV should use a ramp again.

They should bring in guest commentators, like using Dominic Cruz at the announce table during Barao vs. Faber.

I enjoyed the little things they are trying, like the interview with Helwani standing between Hendricks and Koscheck.

When you get the right fighters in that situation, it could be very entertaining.

Im sure they could buy out of the deal.... but no way can they just back out.  impossible.  They did their due diligence and they know worst case they can use the UFC which is the largest ppv provider in the world to get fuel into 70 million homes... that alone was worth the deal for them.

Irule - Stann vs. Lombard
Bader vs. Machida
Browne vs. Rothwell
Etim vs. Lauzon Phone Post

Here is the thing, when I want to ttell friends to check out the fights, it has to be people and fights I can endorse. While the fights r good, I have little/no emotional investment in em. We need to be bringing in fans. I would recommend putting people that r recognizable and exciting. People like Pettis, bendo, Cruz, faber, Aldo, nick Diaz, condit (for interim), Cain (for redemption) , Penn, etc. Also certain matchups and situations. For instance, title fights for lightweight and lower still don't draw well so put those up on fox. Co main events can be to the level the UFC has bbeen doing. But the main event has got to be better
