UFC should go after world class hw grapplers.

With all the money UFC was going to spend on Fedor they should use it to go after World Champion Wrestlers, Judo and BJJ players such as Artur Taymazov, Roger Gracie, Teddy Riner & Karam Ibrahim.

WHO.

isn't fedor's best buddy barnett a 3 TIME steroid OFFENDER... must have been the vodka..

There are quite a few decent heavyweights out there that the UFC could pick up. Sylvester Terkay and John Olav Einemo (although he may have retired due to injury problems) come to mind right away.

LOL! Maybe someday you'll receive an MMA-themed award for your groundbreaking contributions to the sport as an opinion leader, bro.

Ibrahim got wrecked by Fujita. They are investing in their roster, and are probably waiting for guys like Roger to get a little experience in MMA first before signing.

Anyone else here like to see a weight class around 230 lbs? That could be the heavyweight classand would be interesting: Noguiera, Couture, Velazquez, Cro Cop, Dos Santos, maybe Liddel and Vera, could bring back Monson, Randleman, Rizzo. Would be competitive and wouldn't be such a mess.

Because you can never totally get rid of the monsters, have the guys above 230 lbs fight in a Super-Heavyweight class. Since this is the freakshow weight class, you don't even need the 265 lbs limit. Just take any sized animal you can find for this one. They shouldn't do drug tests for this weight class either.

Ibrahim is a stud and could be a force with the proper cross training. I would love to see him on TUF.

ttt for Teddy Riner-who is now thinking about doing MMA.

The UFC is more interested in sloppy strikers than elite grapplers, imho

You're never going to get rid of the heavyweight class, because really, it's the only weight class that matters.

Every other weight class is there to give the smaller guys a chance to compete.

Mike Thomas Brown couldn't beat the worst heavyweight on the UFC's roster, not once.

yes, the ufc is about wanting grappling!

Stop Crying!
Just because most of the smaller HW are to lazy to drop to LHW no reason to make another division for them. IF they get beat down by the true HW their own fault for not cutting. And regardless how many of you feel the truth is The HW division is the main division in combat sports (MMA,Boxing, etc) without the HW close shop and go home. People know upfront the fights in this division very rarely goes the distance. Most end by KO(All of the true big guys 230 plus have one punch KO power.). This is what people want to see not some 170 guy take a guy down and lay on him hitting him for 5 rounds to get the decision due to lack of KO power. They want to see the big guys knock the living hell out of each other for one to two rounds.

the UFC is already the goal of any serious MMA competitor.

they know this and they just let the other organizations put in the money to develop these guys.

Sonester Sambo - its the era of the horse steroid for ufc heavies.

Did they sign Overeem?

Totally agree with this. 206-230 would be a much more competitive and interesting weight class than the current 206-265, i would go further and encourage a 230-265 and let the over 265's remain in the smaller shows where they belong.

it would be nice to see them round out the division with top grapplers.

and this is sad.
