I just read that you can’t move weight classes in UFC Undisputed except with a handful of fighters. This is a big disappointment for me. When I first heard there were 80 different fighters in the game, I thought the possible match-ups were staggering but this really limits the number different fights you can have. IMO this really hurts replay value.
I know it is supposedly more realistic but it’s a game! The whole point in the game is to have fantasy match-ups that you can’t have in real life. You can’t even have GSP vs. Anderson Silva! At the very least you should be able to move one weight class in either direction for every fighter – although I would prefer no weight restrictions at all.
Other videogames allow you fight in different weight classes (Fight night, Pride etc) why does this one not?
I think the moving weight class restriction only exists in career mode?
All fighters but the HWs should be able to move up or down a weight class.
The way it is now Wanderlei cant move to MW.
yeah, it sounds like you're not going to be able to do it period. that's a big mistake on their part.
well I guess you just have to create your own version of you favorite fighter in different weightclasses
I'm pretty sure you'll be able to pit them against each other outside of the career mode, other wise multiplayer is going to get old really quickly... crosses fingers

I hope so too but from I read from the developers on the UFC Undisputed site, it doesn't look good.
i'm pretty sure you WON'T be able to. most likely it's because of clipping issues and other things between character model sizes.
also, could you imagine kenny florian constantly taking down brock lesnar automatically every time he catches a leg kick?

This was my understanding as well. That in vs. mode and such you would be able to pit any fighter against one another, but career mode there were only certain fighters that could move weight classes.

nope, you cant do it at all. And, yeah it's not ideal, but I can't see it hurting replay value THAT much, you've got about 19 fighters in each weight class when you take into account fighters that can move up or down and that's still quite a lot for a fighting game, but you've got it x5. I dont really see it being the end of the world

That really sucks. Every other fighting game allows this sort of thing, so I expected this one to as well. Very disappointing.
I wish they would do this in real life.
Guess there's no way they're changing it now....
is bullshit. bj penn used to tear the heavyweights apart in sudden impact
It's a shame you can't put BJ Penn in against Brock Lesner. It's a videogame, you should be able to do whatever you want!
we all know that if the game did include this feature, people would complain that it is not realistic because it took 3 head kicks from cro cop to knock out efrain escudero

Yeah but it shouldn't. They should allow the match-up and it should take one kick to knock Efrain out. That's the way it is in Fight Night. The match ups are allowed but the heavier fighter has a distinct power advantage. I'm not saying it is a perfect system but better than not allowing the match up.
i think it would be cool as well, but its not a deal breaker by any means. the game is fantastic as a demo; i cant imagine how awesome the complete game is.
i read an interview with the developer and he said that the demo is a fair representation of the actual game. I also saw a picture of the strategy guide and it says something to the effect of "Strategies for all 96 fighters"
96?!
well you KNOW it wont be in the game but you keep talking about it? whats the point of that?
and for the love of god, stop comparing this game to fight night
"WELL IN FIGHT NIGHT YOU COULD DO THIS AND DO THAT"
this isnt fight night, why even say something like this?

I'm hoping for it to be in the next game. Fight Night is the most popular sports fighting game out there. It's a fair comparison. If you don't like it, you know where the other threads are.
I believe they did say certain fighters can fight in two weight classes... like BJ can fight LW and WW. Possibly A. Silva at LHW and MW... I think Brandon Vera was mentioned for HW and LHW. A few other fighters were mentioned as well...
