The premiere episode of "UFC Unleashed", last night at 11:05 PM on Spike TV, drew an overall rating of 1.6.
More details are up on MMAWeekly.com, including how this rating compares to the rating for The Ultimate Fighter's premiere, and to The Ultimate Fighter's average rating over the course of the series.
Good point nunez4!
nickhhh...you must be smoking crack.
I wouldn't expect the August 6th live event to draw the 1.9 overall rating that the April 9th season finale of TUF did. That had a whole season of reality TV building up to it, this doesn't. This has two episodes of UFC Unleashed and a few weeks of commercials to build up to it.
Also, it's from 9:00 to midnight this time, not 9:00 to 11:30. That will make a huge difference, as there was a big drop-off last time as there always is on Saturday nights at 11:00 PM as people either go out or go to bed. The hour from 11:00 to 12:00 is not primetime; there's a reason TNA wanted the 10:00 slot for the fall instead of the 11:00 slot that they got (and are paying for as an infomercial).
What makes it tough is the UFC can't exactly book a three-hour live special from 8:00 to 11:00 (which would be all-primetime), because that means you're starting a live event in Vegas at 5:00 PM. They had a hard enough time selling tickets last time, as the TUF season finale drew only 779 paid fans (as previously reported by MMAWeekly), and a whole bunch of comps given out by PR people.
He was in a really bad movie called "no holds barred". It was about wrestling not mma.
I found a review that said "the script is so bad it's as if they strapped down a 6 year old hulkamaniac, force-fed him a bunch of crack, then asked him to write a script."
LOL, I remember that movie, and I can testify to the fact that it does indeed suck. But that was a pro wrestling movie, not an MMA movie in any way.
they need to milk the WWE follower time slot for what it is worth. when it is gone they must already have an established following.
ttt and F*** the WWE
"they need to milk the WWE follower time by having Hulk Hogan be a guest referee or work someone's corner or something at Ultimate Fight Night."
Yeah, that would be ratings gold. "C'mon brother, you can do it dude! Hulk up and drop the big leg, brother!"
