Yes, I am a game nerd and yes I have been harassing my game nerd friends at game stop for a year. It will be coming out very late in the year with 2009 in the title.
Announcement after UFC 84. Late this year seems to be the target.

Fighters scanned so far that i can remember: Rampage, Liddell(both in trailer), W.Silva, Bisping, Lauzon, Alves, Tibau, Forrest Griffin.
from what i've heard (other than those billy mentioned) a. silva, sylvia, hughes, gsp, penn
& of course a whole bunch of guys featured on TUF as well

the graphics on the trailer are for the cinematics, but the game play should not be that far off

Play the Pride PS2 game sometimes, but its very flawed. I hope they redo some of the most annoying traits:
The energy bar system: i hate this since it can lead to KOs from underneath mount, from jabs etc. It should definately have a zonal damage system for realistic leg kick effects, facial cuts etc. A KO strike should have to be reasonably powerful and fighters should have different chins and stamina.
Grappling: Pride has an awful punch reversal grappling system that makes no distinction between fighters grappling ability except for when it comes to actually applying submissions. catching punches automatically reverses position which is just crap.

Any word on the gameplay system, how theyre going to handle strikes and takedowns and all that? i am sure that your going to use the right stick for these right? probably using the triggers or bumper buttons as modifiers like in fight night, correct?
