Ugliest Uppercuts Ever Set Up Reem KO

I'd love to hear what Slack or any other skilled striking analyst has to say about Rothwell's hideous uppercuts in the Reem fight.

Rothwell looked kinda robotic standing out there. He looked like he was waiting for the Reem to do something, then he fished with his lead hand -kind of a pawing hook. Next, he would launch his uppercut. He did this time and time again, and to my shock, it was working quite well. Reem seemed to get rocked a few times by those uppercuts.

A cautious Reem stopped dipping his head down in the exchanges and then Rothwell blasted Overeem's upright head off with his straight right.

I am really curious about Rothwell's strategy going into the fight. Those uppercuts, although not pretty (technically speaking, the uppercuts were sound, but the hook grab that he was employing was ugly looking) were highly effective and seemed to be by design.

Any thoughts? As a fighter out of the Midwest circuit, I have always been a fan of big Ben. I never got to fight on the same cards as him, but he always seemed to be around. His post fight speech was cringe-worthy at times, but the guy seems so honest and sincere, I can't help but to cheer for him.

I cant offer Daniel Theodore level insight about the nuances of Big Ben's striking, but, I can say that I enjoyed the part when he hit him pow right in the kisser.
