I couldn't care less whether Overeem is English, British, Jamaican, Dutch or anything else for that matter. But the facts are, he was born in England and therefore qualifies for a UK passport. But that's by the by.
The thing that gets me is that I often hear Americans, when talking about nationality, refer to themselves as Irish, Italian, etc and every denomination in-between despite the fact they've never been within thousands of miles, in some cases, of the place they're claiming. What's the difference?
My point is, he's at least a bit British. More so than some of our so called sporting stars of the past.
