UN Arms/Gun Control Treaty In Force 12/24/14 GTFIH

The landmark Arms Trade Treaty (ATT), regulating the international trade in conventional arms - from small arms to battle tanks, combat aircraft and warships - will enter into force on 24 December 2014.

According to the United Nations Office for Disarmament (could they be more explicit in what their goals really are?):

In international arms control, small arms include revolvers and self-loading pistols, rifles and carbines, assault rifles, submachine guns and light machine guns.

A little over a year ago, Secretary of State John Kerry signed the United Nations Small Arms Treaty. Fortunately for the US, the Senate had already taken a position on the treaty and deemed it unconstitutional and unworthy of recognition as a violation of the Second Amendment. However, that isn’t stopping the UN treaty from advancing forward in the eyes of the world on December 24, 2014.

While the UN’s disarmament site claims that the United States has ratified the treaty on September 25, 2013, nothing could be further from the truth. While Kerry may have signed the document, the United States Senate is required to ratify it by two-thirds. They have not done so.

With all the school shootings recently and Michael Brown's mother appealing to the United Nations, how long do you really think it'll be before we actually ratify this?

Do we really need to ratify it? Can we take some kind of backdoor approach like we've done many times in the past. Executive order or martial law which would in effect suspend the Constitution.

Will we get this ratified like we got the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 passed when 30 of our senators were with their families for the Christmas Holiday on 12/23/1913?

Remember, a 2/3 vote from the Senate only applies to those senators who are present at the time of the vote. So, if this vote happens at a time when only 60 senators show up and 20 sign on, then it will become law.

But of course we know this could never be the case because that is a direct violation of the US Constitution and the second amendment!

Yeah, that really worked well for us in the past, didn't it? Nothing unconstitutional could ever become lawn this country right? Right?? Phone Post 3.0

Gun control outside the US is a good idea... Outside of Texas is even better. Phone Post 3.0

40 sign on to ratify* Phone Post 3.0

These god damn gum lawns Phone Post 3.0

Got it. Stock up on gum when they come to get the guns.

Maybe we can use the foil wrappers on the gum to cover our heads so the gubmint cant read our minds? Phone Post 3.0

So what does this treaty mean to legal gun carrying citizens of America? Phone Post 3.0

^ Nothing, really.

Ugh. More idiocy from Mr. Planet X. Phone Post 3.0

The UN has no authority here in the states. At the least it would mean that foreign arms would have a harder time bringing their products out of their country for sale to foreign countries. Phone Post 3.0
