MMA Referee School provides quality MMA official training. All with a passion for learning, no matter what level, are welcome to attend and participate.

Matt Klein and Erick Gonzalez attended the May 2012 MMARS training in Santa Fe. They passed both MMA Official 1 and MMA Official 2 courses. Matt and Erick stepped into the cage. Each refereed 2 bouts and sat cage side to judge 4 bouts at the King of the Cage shadow event.

Is the certification valid in all states?

Yes, any commission/sanctioning body worldwide that recognizes the ABC (Association of Boxing Commissions) will honor MMARS certification.

How do the courses work?

Those seeking certification are required to physically demonstrate MMA technique.

Passing MMA Official 1 covers all requirements for Judge Certification.

Referee Certification is attained by passing both MMA Official 1 & 2.

Shadow students who pass certification testing will judge and referee bouts at the shadow event.

hmm maybe i should be a ref.

If you really want to be a referee or judge, before taking one of these classes, contact the athletic commission in the state where you live. If they are in need of officials, sometimes even if they are not in need, there will be more of a chance of them accepting you if you contact them prior to attending any course. IMO

Somebody start a paypal account we can all donate to. The proceeds will teach Kim Winslow how to ref. If we are stuck with bad refs we might as well pay to get them trained ourselves!
